LITTLE ACT OF BRAVERY NO. 1
They said that our fate is sealed,
that it had been written in stone,
and we children always believe
what we are constantly
being told.Stereotypes and foolish predictions
declaring how our future would look.
But you won't know a story's ending
from just the first page
of the book.Acting static - yet we shouldn't be.
We should neither assume nor pretend
that who we are at the beginning
is who we are until the end.Thinking that we have no control,
that we can't change for the better.
We just hide inside our worn-out shells
and give up on improving - we really are cowards. But I do not want this!
I refuse to be remembered this way.
There is so much more to my existence
- that, I am brave enough to say.Yes, you can't control what happens,
and the feeling can leave you powerless.
But you can control how you'll react.
So turn this emotion into
empowerment! They said your fate is sealed?
Well then tear
that seal apart
and rip it away
from destiny's hands! They said it was written in stone?
Well then smash
that stone to pieces
and carve up a
new one yourself!Recognize all your flaws and limits
for that is the first step to self-discovery.
Acknowledge each and every single one
- all you need is a little bravery.____________________
