Trapped

The coldness was the first thing that Jongkook noticed when he slowly came back to. It was a weird sensation of cold as well. It was as if he was being suffocated by this weird clump of air around him, just due to the fact that it was cold. He felt awfully tired as well. If it weren't for the fact that he was tied to a chair, he would have gone and grabbed himself water... But alas, he could not.

When Jongkook was finally able to fully open his eyes and focus his gaze into what was in front of him, he was met with the face of a woman who was both beautiful and yet also possessing a strong presence. It took him quite a while to figure out who this person was until all of the memories came flooding back into Jongkook's head.

"You!?" Jongkook exclaimed at Si-Young, finally realising that he was being held hostage by the two bounty hunters.

"I see, he's finally awake," another voice came into the scene, as Sunghoon entered the small, poorly-lit room. "Your friend here has been awake for over an hour here, and yet you were still asleep. I thought you were stronger than that."

"My friend?" Jongkook asked in confusion before turning his head around to see a face that he had not seen since the airport incident. "You're Gary, aren't you?"

Gary only nodded to this question, as he continued to look straight towards the two bounty hunters with such intensity that even the Commander himself felt intimidated.

"So, tell me... Who are you people?" Si-Young was the first one to ask. "You've been following us for a full day by now, and it's so audaciously clear that you are in a group."

"Yeah... You two together with that Donghoon fellow and that tall, lanky guy," Sunghoon added in, to which Gary muttered something in response as well.

"I'm sorry but what did you say?" Sunghoon said, being able to sense the hostility radiating from the former cashier.

"I said you also forgot Jihyo," Gary said with quietly, with such poison injected into each and every word that even Sunghoon was taken by surprise. At first, Jongkook was sure that Gary would have just tried his damndest to get a piece of the two bounty hunters while he could, but the absence of active aggression in Gary's part made Jongkook realised that there had to be something else going on as well. By the time that he finally realised that there was also two armed men standing right behind them with their guns raised, Jongkook knew that Gary's stillness was the right call.

How did he even notice them? Jongkook pondered in his mind. The kid's got amazing instincts.

"Well, are you two not going to say anything?" Si-Young asked once more, due to the lack of any clear answers. "I see."

Realising that she was not going to obtain any intel by keeping her hands clean, she immediately went to deliver a blow unlike that of a woman her size to both tied men, causing the two of them to wince in pain.

"Still not going to say anything?"

Both Jongkook and Gary remained silent except for the sounds of their coughing. It was crystal clear to both Bounty Hunters that these were not ordinary people. They had been trained, both mentally and physically, and there was no longer any doubt by now that there was indeed a group who was on their tail.

"But who could it be?" Si-Young asked Sunghoon once they finally left the room to gain some breathing time, while also watching the two hostages from a one-sided mirror.

"As far as I know, it'll either be the police or the military. Especially that one guy I fought with, he looked like a military man through and through. Still... there had been rumours from some of my associates that there had been a certain group of people, unknown to that of the general public, who specialised in carrying out covert ops in the country. I don't exactly know the details nor whether it's the truth or not, but it's surely something I could try looking into."
