chapter 7 - finding out

I woke with lily shaking me, apparently the alarm clocks were a couple of minutes behind. I got out of bed rubbing my head. It was the second weekend we had here, my first with the marauders. I threw on some clothes and dashed down to the common room. They were already there. Remus looked dreadful - like he had stayed awake all night.

"Hey Peter, Moony, James and Sirius," I said

"Hey Nova, we were planning on having a break from you for a while, you know a boys day, also lily looks lonely remind her that I welcome her with open arms," James said.

I grinned at them and ran upstairs to get the invisibility cloak. I grabbed it and threw it on, then I ran after the marauders. They headed down to the forbidden forest, there they talked about ways to get at snivellus. I don't know who snivellus is but I have a pretty good idea that it was a student who was being bullied by my 'friends'. 

"We could make him eat slugs," Sirius said.

"YES! that's a brilliant idea well done Sirius," James said, "Lets do it now," he added.

I followed them out of the woods, they waited at a tree. I was confused until I saw who they were waiting for. Snivellus was Severus Snape, Lily's friend. He didn't notice them until it was too late, they had already pounced on him. 

"Hello Snivellus," Sirius said.

"Sirius, please don't hurt me," 

"Eat slugs Snivellus," James yelled pointing his wand at Severus.

I went behind the tree and took off the cloak then I shoved it in a bag I had conveniently taken with me. When I came out from behind the tree Peter, James and Sirius were laughing, Remus was reading a book. I saw Lily running towards Severus.  

"Lily take his to the hospital wing I'll deal with them," I nodded my head in the marauders direction. 

She nodded her head and took the boy vomiting slugs away, I turned to the marauders. I jinxed them and made it so they couldn't move.

"So you want to tell me why you broke your promise? Why are you bulling people? I mean James is that how you want Hogwarts to remember you? A big bully, a person who would prey on the weak? Peter, I know how scared you are to stand up for yourself but sometimes you have to stand up for other people not just stand there laughing as people get hurt. Remus, you just stand there reading your book, a bystander. And Sirius, I am so disappointed in you, after all we've been through, you make others suffer just like you did, you remember how you felt? you were scared to do anything wrong and now your making other people feel the same way," 

I glared at them all waiting for them to apologise, but they didn't so I walked off, leaving them in the jinx. 

I spent the day with Lily and Severus, he was quite fun to be around. When it came to the end of the day I saw Remus slip out of the giant door. I went after him, hoping to see him go into the forbidden forest. He didn't he went into a tree, the whomping willow. 

I followed him into the tree and realised that the tree had a tunnel in it, I followed the tunnel until it reached a little place, a house. 

"the shrieking shack," Remus whispered under his breath. I hid behind the door and waited for Remus to come out. I was waiting there for about an hour, I then gave up and yelled, "Remus are you coming inside or not?"

There was no answer, I opened the door and a giant werewolf was standing there, slicing things in half with his razor sharp claws. 

"REMUS! WERE ARE YOU? WE NEED TO GO NOW! THERE'S A WEREWOLF!"
