Nova black - Sirius' twin

chapter 4 - our first lessons

When we got to potions James pulled me aside sniggering, he wanted me to throw some dung bombs so he could climb on the desk and announce his love for his dear 'lily flower' as he liked to call her. I beckoned Sirius over and told him the plan. James gave us a dung bomb each.

The bell went for 9 (class) so we all lined up and waited for slughorn. When he came out he shooed us in and shut the door behind us.

"today we will be making bubbling  boils a potion, it is a very easy one to start of with so I don't think you'll be needing me, just get out your text-books and go to page 403 and follow the instructions. It won't be hard, any questions?"

Lilly put her hand up.

"you there what's your question?"

"I don't have a book sir, someone stole it from me last night."

"well go work with that girl. you over there what's your name?"

"Nova Black," I said.

Lily walked over to me taking her caldron, I could hear James bouncing in excitement. As we worked Lily told me that doing pranks was naughty and Sirius nearly killed her last night. When I had finished my potion I went to slughorn and sowed him the results.

"my, my, my. this is a very good boils potion lets see if it works,"

He grabbed Wormtail who was poking his head out my pocket.

"no sir, you can't do it on him."

"why ever not?"

"because he'll hate you and probably bite you, and he's my pet,"

"well get me that frog in that glass jar over there then," He said pointing to a jar with a toad in it. I gave him the toad and took back my rat. he dropped a drop of my potion on it and a huge boil grew on its back. Then he gave it the antidote so the boil shrunk and disappeared.

I went back to my seat and heard James whisper "Now!" 

I grabbed the dung bomb from my pocket and chucked it on the floor, Sirius did the same at the same time. A browny yellowy cloud erupted from the ground and I couldn't see any thing, a pong erupted from the cloud and soon I was chocking on it. 

When the clouds cleared James was on his desk and he shouted 

"LILY EVANS I LOVE YOU! WILL YOU GO OUT WITH ME?" 

I turned next to me and saw Lily's cheeks go red,  her whole face was red really. She looked so embarrassed. I scanned the class and saw most of them were laughing one boy from Slytherin was biting his nails he looked like he loved her too. 

"no, James Potter. I will never go out with you as long as I live!"

he sighed, "well I'll see you two in detention," he said it to me and Sirius.

We all looked at Slughorn and he was laughing "no, you don't have a detention, but have you finished your potion?"

"yes sir I have,"

James gave slughorn his potion and slughorn sniffed it and said, "could be better,"

"now you, have you done your potion?"

He was pointing at me. "sir I've already given mine in, I think it's him your supposed to be pointing at,"

Sirius added the last piece of sloth brain and handed it to Slughorn. Slughorn looked and it and said. "what have you put IN this? its supposed to be red not blue!"

He must have added to much faery wings.

When class had finished we had  defence against the dark arts. we walked in and this really old guy told us to get out your books.
