"You had a what?!" Evelyn asks.
"How is this new information? You're literally like the spotlight of the paparazzi," Gabby points out.
Jeanine shrugs and spins the bottle, trying to shut the conversation down.
"New tactic: she's leaving us to die of suspense," Tris says dryly.
"It's not something we need to bring up in conversation," Jeanine points out.
Nova rolls her eyes. "Tris!" Jeanine says.
"THANK GOODNESS!" Tris yells. She throws the hairbrush across the room and moves as far away from Jeanine as she can.
"Candor or Dauntless?" Jeanine asks her.
"Dauntless," she responds.
"Evelyn!" Jeanine whines. "Do you have a jar of pickles?"
She sighs and reluctantly gets one. Jeanine grabs the jar and takes the pickles out.
"Drink all of the juice," she says with a grin. Tris grabs it and downs it in one bite. She almost looks as if she's about to throw up.
"Never again," she whispers, clearly very disgusted.
Jeanine grins and Tris spins the bottle. She purposely makes it land on Jeanine.
"Candor or Dauntless?" She asks innocently.
Jeanine mutters a strand of curse words under her breath, and Cat and Eric laugh. "I knew you were going to do that," Jeanine growls. "Well, I don't want you to ask me about the last question, so Dauntless," she adds.
"I dare you to tell us about your daughter," Tris says with a grin.
"You're evil," Jeanine pouts. She then proceeds to curl up in a ball and fake cry. "Beatrice is being mean!"
"Why are you so against this?" Johanna asks.
Jeanine sighs and sits up straight, preparing herself to tell a story.
"Seventeen years ago, I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl," she starts. "Only my husband, my mother, and I knew she existed. My mother forced me to give her up. I was just starting in leadership then. Not even the girl herself knows she's my daughter.
"So you're saying I have a half sister?" Eric asks.
Jeanine nods. "She grew up to be a beautiful smart girl. But she also grew up to hate me. She transferred to Dauntless, and the rest is her story to tell," she finishes.
She is greeted by a bunch of blank stares. Despite hating Jeanine, they almost felt slightly sorry for her.
Jeanine looks at Tris. "Spin the bottle. We both know that turn didn't count."
Tris spins the bottle and it stops on Marcus. "Cando-"
She is cur off by a shriek. Everyone looks over to check if Nova is alright. "I'm her," She whispers.
