I sighed in relief knowing it was the last day of the school year. Saying I was happy was an understatement. Mum has been forcing me to go all week. I hadn't talked to Luke since Monday night/Tuesday morning though.

Kayla, the girl who I picked up from the bridge, was doing fine, mum didn't mind much. I was allowed to have her over so long as I went to school every single day this week... which was torture.

I didn't know why mum was so content on sending me to school, we all know I'm not going to university with my grades, no matter how hard mum tries I will never be smarter at school.

You can't judge a fish by its ability to fly right?

I quickly scrubbed my teeth then put my brownish-red hair into a messy bun, complete with black leggings, white converse and a navy blue baggy jumper that said 'cestlovie' on it.

Hey Taylah :) are you free tonight? Come over to mine after school if you are, you know my address. One of mums work friends are coming over so she said the boys and I could invite someone over.

"MUMMM!" I yelled, rushing downstairs so I could pack my bag.

"What now Tay?" she sighed, putting the milk into her bowl of coco pops. Real healthy mum.

"Is it alright if I go over to a friends after school, it IS the last day of the school year and I've been going to school all week."

Mum rolled her eyes, "just be home by 9pm. I'll be coming home around that time."

I nodded, thanking her.

"Can I please go to the movies tonight Miss Carmen," Kayla asked quietly as she ran her hand through her dark (almost black) brown. My mum talked to her quietly before she went back up stairs.

I made myself coco pops, sitting on a white stool in our beautiful kitchen. Our house wasn't massive, yes it had two levels but it ain't massive. It was homely and that's for sure. Our kitchen was an average size with white tiling and white cupboards and white... well, you get the idea.

I finished my breakfast then grabbed a red apple, biscuits and $5 lunch money on the bench for me. Shoving them in my bag, I ran out the door where I was greeted by Courtney's mums black territory sitting in the driveway. I got into the car, mumbling a quick hello to Courtney and her mum.

We drove past many houses and trees before we made it to school.

"Race you?" Courtney laughed, before running into school. I laughed and joined her like I was a pre-schooler, running past the high gates and into the bland looking front door and through the bland looking hallways to my locker which was right next to Courtney's. The day was pretty boring, the first and second period we played sports games (ew), third and forth we watched movies an the last lesson was completed with a miniature party.

People were counting down until the bell went to end school for the year, I'm surprised they didn't start saying 'summer summer summer' then belt out into 'what time is it? It's summer time!' when it went. High School Musical 2 raised my standard of what high school should be like, and it's a pity my school never lived up to it.

Instead of singing, my class was boring and just screamed then rushed out of the class room. No 'its our vacation!'? No? Ok.

I went to the toilets and got dressed straight away, putting on blue jeans and a grey long sleeved midriff top that said 'I am who I am.'

Walking out of school slowly, so I wasn't run over by the horde of elephants that were currently exiting the school, I went to the train station and scanned the myki I always had the the bottom of my bag. "Glenroy, Glenroy, Glenroy," I muttered to myself quietly as I ran my middle finger over the map of train stations.
