Valeria
When I woke up this morning there was something under me. Wait...not something, someone. My eyes struggled to open but when they did it was a blurry phase where they couldn't pinpoint an actual human being. I just laid there squinting and rubbing my eyes before they became full, clear, and focused. There was a tremendous amount of light leaking in from the windows, shinning and reminding me exactly where I was and who I was under right now.
I looked down and noted Nicolas sleeping heavily with his head tilted to the side and his eyes firmly shut. His chest lifted and sunk in a rhythmic pattern as he took in light breaths. I watched him for a while, he looked so peaceful laying there; right now he seemed so harmless and innocent which was definitely not how he perceived himself in the real world. I liked this demeanor on him and I watched him for as long as I could before I really realized what I really was doing right now. I struggled to get up off of him but noticed that his hands were tightly wrapped around my waist.
When had we gotten into this position?
I couldn't deny the warm feeling that swam through my body as I imagined what it would be like to date this man. Something as simple as falling asleep on the couch would be simple and normal than I made it seem. I took a deep breath and was careful as I slowly lifted off of him, removing his hands from me and heading straight to the bathroom. He only stirred a little and I was grateful, I didn't want to wake him from his peaceful slumber.
In the bathroom, I freshened up as best as I could trying to remove the dazed look and red eyes I carried on my face; with a couple of splashes of cold water, I ran my hands through my hair as best as I could and spun around making sure I didn't look like a hot mess when I stepped out. I was gone for maybe about 10 minutes making sure my appearance was up to par before I left the bathroom.
I heard fumbling around the kitchen and assumed it was Nicolas trying to make some breakfast.
I walked in there already smelling pancakes, my mouth was drooling but with that came an extreme pounding headache.
Nicolas was so intensely focused on the pancakes that he didn't hear me stepping into the grand kitchen.
"Morning." I muttered causing him to jump a little in fright. I almost smiled at my unintentional attempt to frighten him.
He blinked repeatedly as if he wasn't really seeing me for a moment and then his lips curled into a smile. "You frightened me, Valeria." He stated.
I chuckled, "I know." I stated.
He went back to working on his pancakes. "I thought you left." He said to me once the kitchen grew silent and only the sounds of the frying pan were prominent in our ears.
I shook my head, "I just went to the bathroom for a little bit." I admitted to him.
He nodded, "Bathroom." He muttered to myself.
I smirked, "What? Did you think I would leave?" I asked him.
He didn't turn to look at me but his face rose up in a red color...it looked so cute and innocent on him. "Maybe, just a little bit." He confessed.
I walked further into the kitchen, trying to see if there was anything I could help with.
"Can I help you with anything?" I asked him curiously.
He shook his head, "I do not make my house guests work." He stated simply.
I rolled my eyes, "Enough of that...I'm starving and if I don't do something with my hands I'm going to start fishing through the fridge." I said looking through the cabinets for another pan so I could make some sausage and eggs.
