This is a short update but the next chapter is pretty long.
Happy reading.

STEVEN
At the stroke of two, I step out of my office and within a few minutes, my car shudders to life as I drive on the pathway through the snow filled pavements. I had given the day off to Emerson 'cause his wife met with a motorway accident. Poor guy!
The effect of the harsh winter is extreme with silence intensifying every second. This quietude feels tranquil.
Picking up my phone, I mail Miss Keller, remembering the statements she said to me in office.
Please arrange a capable person by the earliest. We cannot afford any more time."So many things, so little time..." I muse.
Suddenly, a pair of headlights distract my thoughts by flashing and reflecting from the rear-view of my Porsche.
Glancing at my wrist, I murmur,"Twenty-two minutes past two. Who could it be at this hour of the night?"
There comes a moment, a rare and precious one, when the brain couldn't fathom the happenings, when the heart can't recognise what it's feeling, when the eyes become incapable of resisting, when there is so much that require attention yet every shred of consciousness gets centred in that moment, in that very single moment. An instance when the entire universe conspires and reflects the latent yet best slice of your soul.
I glare through the back glass of the car that just bypassed mine and notice a girlish back, semi-covered in a dress of the torquoise hue. I drive a tad towards the pavement and behold an arm streched out of the window with a fine streak on it. Her fingers clench a crimson shade rose that contrasts sharply from her milk fair arm. A few strands of tangled hair wave in the freezing breeze dancing in sync with the upbeat music exploding from the car.
Looks like she is drunk.
I couldn't resist my gaze that remains fixed on that delicate arm with that streak until the car speeds off and disappears into thick fog.
Strange.
