TROUBLE
According to Miss Keller, Bradshaw is trouble when someone pokes his past. I don't care 'cause he is vicious even when nobody pokes him. So I decide to talk even if 'Trouble' hunts me down, consequences be damned.
The sky is inky dark and the scintillating lights give the pristine feel of pearls thrown into a sea of dark waters. Flakes of snow cascade down and lay themselves in their graveyard.
I rub my palms against my arms, warming myself in the chilly night. My determination and curiosity got the better of me and here I am, sitting in the vestibule for the last four and half hours.
When the clock ticks 3:15, I perceive a faint silhouette. Erecting myself, I stand up.
"I want to tell you that this is really important, prior to your asking or saying something. I have got some questions and they are required to be answered... for the journal. I researched a lot but I couldn't get... well, answers. I plead you to atleast give me twenty minutes. Please."
After blurting out the words that I had practised for a million times, I try to fathom his reaction. And he just stands with a stone-hard face with hands in his pant pockets.
"Tomorrow. At the coffee shop nearest to your place. 8 pm sharp." he says. After taking two steps, he stops. "I hate people who are not punctual." Without turning back, he adds and walks off.
As he gets out a chilly breeze blows inside and hits my body to which I close my eyes. However, I don't flinch.
"Thank you." I whisper.
For a moment, I think he stopped for a few seconds. But who knows, I might have hallucinated as well.
Today, for the first time since we met, he made me sense the most beautiful and serene emotion. He made me smile.
