• LAYTON'S POV •

After another two weeks at the hospital, Chad was finally released to go home. He spent most of his time at his moms apartment and at physical therapy, while I was still in school. Chad is picking up his school work right where he left off in December so I'm glad to have him going to school with me again.

As for the proposal, like I said before I'm waiting until after we graduate to ask him. I don't even know if he heard me or not the night I asked him to marry me while he was still in his coma but he hasn't said anything about it so I figure it's still a secret to him. One week after he woke up he finally got his vision back, a bit blurry is what he said but he was so happy. I don't think I've ever gotten that many kisses in a day.

I still go visit him every day, sometimes taking him to his therapist. And actually his therapist loves when I come because Chad is always a bit more motivated is what she said.

And now finally the present, it's been three months since Chad was released from the hospital, and tonight we're celebrating New Years together. We're not going anywhere special, just staying at home and watching the ball drop on his TV while eating ice cream. But I'm planning on surprising him, no not proposing but it's a different sort of question.

I just made it to chads apartment and slipped out of my car, a present in my hand. As I started walking towards the front door I couldn't keep the smile from my face. I made it all the way to chads apartment and put the key in the slot. His mom gave me a spare key a while back since she knew my feelings towards Chad. "Het, it's layton I'm coming in." I announced after opening the door. Chad's mom greeted me first.

"Happy New Years layton, you know you don't have to say when you're coming in. You're aloud to walk right in." She grinned. I smiled back but shook my head.

"Sorry I just don't feel right walking in unannounced. But here, happy new year." I handed her gift to her. Her face lift up when she saw the bottle of champagne in my hand.

"Oh layton sweetie you didn't have to!"

"But I wanted to, where's Chad?"

She grinned as i handed her the bottle. "His room, waiting for you." I smile and nod. Heading to his room I play with the small card in my packet and the tiny boxed gift. I knock on the door and before I can even take a breath the door is being pulled open and Chad wraps his arms tightly around me. I smiled and hug him back just as tightly and kiss his head. "Hi love." I mumble in his hair, smiling lovingly.

He looks up at me and grins. "Hi lay." I lean down and kiss him first softly but then deepen it as i part his lips with my tongue. Still holding him I pull us into his room and close the door before his mom can hear us. I push his gently against his wall and run my hands down to his hips as I continue wrestling with his tongue. A moan escapes the back of his throat as I smirk and pull away. He wines and opens to eyes to look at me, "why'd you stop?" I chuckled and kissed him again but pulled back.

"Because I'm not here to have sex, well not yet at least." I smirk again as his cheek redden. He buries his face in my chest and grips the back of my coat. See I haven't even taken my coat off yet. I pull away and kiss his cheek before stripping my coat off and placing it on the back of his chair. "I have a gift for you, well two sorta." His eyes light up and he jumps onto his bed and waits for me to sit down. I pull the card and box for my coat pocket and sit down next to him. "Here's the first one." I had him the box and he grin. Pulling away the paper I put on it he gently opens the box to find the silver necklace I bought.
