Chapter 7

Ozpin: He has my cane.

Sarge: Let's head to our base, we'll fill you in on what we've been up to.

They get on the Raven.

Trenton: Now that we found you, we have one major thing to take care of. Salem and her forces need to be taken down.

Sarge: We have some suspects we believe to be working with her.

Oscar: Well, we did put some files together.

He hands Sarge the files, who searches through them.

Sarge: Let's see here. Hazel, Watts, Tyrian. This list seems kind of small.

Trenton: I told you that's all she had left other than Cinder and RWBY.

Sarge: I still don't trust that thing in your head.

Trenton: You don't have to trust him, just trust me. I know what I'm doing. He hasn't done anything bad yet.

Ozpin: Is this that where you're getting this insider knowledge from?

Trenton: Yes. It's a Grimm version of me. He was supposed to take full control of me, but didn't want to.

The Raven lands at their base in the camp. They upgraded the houses with stone and the base with metal since Trenton left on his search. The three walk into the base's control room.

Trenton: Damn, you guys changed this place up quite a bit.

Sarge: You were gone for about a year.

Trenton: As we were leaving, these guys started an assault on that town. I had my mask cam on.

Trenton takes off his mask and plugs it into his scroll, which pops up a hologram of the video. As one of them is into frame, Trenton pauses and zooms in. The person was wearing black and white armor.

Sarge: What the fuck are they part of?

Trenton: My guess is they are working for Salem. They attacked just before Grimm Yang showed up. Better question. Where did they come from?

Oscar: Maybe Salem hired them.

Trenton: I wouldn't doubt it. They had to of been paid well to work for a witch like her. Or they've been seduced like the simps they are.

Sarge: Why do you believe they're simps?

Trenton: She doesn't seem all that trustworthy and I know some guys be simpin' over her. Just a few days ago, I overheard a group of guys talking about fucking her.

Trenton continues the video and pauses on Grimm Yang.

Trenton: Grimm Yang showed up as Oscar and I were about to head off down the mountain. If you look closely you can see a large gun on her left arm.

He zooms in so the others can see.

Trenton: She fired at us, but we moved out of the way.  It definitely left a mark on the ground. We won't stand a chance against that even with aura.

Sarge: What we need to do is upgrade our gear then.

Qrow returns from his mission and enters the control room.

Qrow: That would be a start, but how would we know if it's enough to resist that kind of fire power?

Grimm Trent: (There's a small base in a jungle that uses that equipment. I can guide you through it. It's guarded so you'll need some help if things go south.)

Trenton: I have some info. It'll be dangerous and I will need help if things go downhill. Grimm me will guide me through the base. They have weapons similar to that one.

Qrow: How would you get in?

Trenton: I have my ways. I'll sneak in and grab some of their guns. Hopefully it'll be a quick 'in and out' sorta thing.

Sarge: Before we attempt that, we need everyone in good condition.

Trenton: You're right. We'll be good by tomorrow.

Trenton unplugs everything and goes to leave.

Trenton: In the meantime, I'm patrolling.

As Trenton steps foot out of the room, Sarge fires a tranquilizer dart at his neck. Trenton collides with the doorframe before hitting the floor.

Qrow: You know he's gonna be pissed, right?

Sarge: Yep.

Qrow: He kinda needed it though. He's tearing his mentality apart. More than what it was.

Sarge: You know his past too?

Qrow: Yep. I was the first person he told. I trained him whenever I could.

Sarge: How did you two meet up?

Qrow: Typical bar stuff. He wanted to be a huntsman so I told him what he needed to know to survive. One day he told me on his own. What he didn't know was, I already knew. Oz knew it too and cleared his name before anyone could arrest him. He's not a bad kid, he just got tired of it. Since then, he's never done anything bad.

Sarge: If he became evil back then, I would've ended him.

Qrow: I doubt it.

Sarge: What do you mean?

Qrow: Trent may not be the smartest person, but he's sure as hell not a complete dumb ass. You two probably would be on par. He learned quick because he had nothing else to lose. Now, he doesn't want to lose anyone close to him. Since what happened at Beacon, he hasn't been the same. He's been a bit more reckless and running off fumes.

Sarge: This should last for a few long hours. Hopefully he'll wake up feeling rested. If he doesn't, I smacking him on the back of the head with a mallet.

Ozpin: May I have my cane back?

Qrow: Sure thing Oz.

He hands the cane to Oscar.

Sarge: Let's give you a tour of the place.

Sarge shows Oscar, along with Ozpin, around the base and the camp. As he's wrapping up the tour, the rest of team GATR show up.

Grey: Have you found Ozpin?

Sarge: Yeah. In fact he's right here.

Grey: What about Trent? Is he back here?

Sarge: He's currently resting. You might want to check on him though. He's right inside the base.

Ray: Did you have tranq him? Please tell me you did.

Sarge: You can watch it on the cameras.

Ajax: I gotta see this.

They run off to the base as Sarge sighs.

Sarge: What great teammates.

Ozpin: They're like brothers. They pick on each other, but they stand up for one another. They work well and that makes them a great team. They may be our only chance of winning this.

Sarge: What do you mean?
