Chapter 3

Sarge: You look like shit.

Trenton: Thanks, I just watched some of my friends get killed.

Sarge: I saw Ruby's body on my way up.

Trenton: Weiss was gunned down in front of me before I reached the tower. I was too late to save her, I failed to save Ruby too!

Trenton walks over to a pillar and rests his left hand on it.

Trenton: How will Yang handle this?! How will she handle the fact that her sister is now dead?!

Sarge: Listen, I know it's bad. But, you need to get ahold of yourself. You're going to hurt yourself in more ways than one.

Trenton: Do you think Ozpin knew this would happen? I mean, three students from nowhere coming here claiming to be from Haven.

Sarge: You snooped through the files too?

Trenton: Something wasn't adding up. I had to check. Folks have been losing their lien without knowing how. The answer was illusions. That's Emerald's semblance. Mercury's legs were robotic. Cinder was obviously up to schemes.

Sarge: And there's someone on the inside that helped them get in.

Trenton: Exactly. Leo Lionheart, the headmaster of Haven Academy. It had to of been him.

Sarge: You don't seem bothered by my Grimm arm.

He changes it back to his normal arm.

Trenton: Listen. I've seen some stranger shit out there. As far as I'm concerned, we're on the same side. Did Ruby's silver eyes affect you?

Sarge: Yeah. It hurt me and I crashed into that Wyvern.

Trenton: Is it dead?

Sarge: Oh yeah. I made sure of it.

Trenton gets a call on his scroll from Qrow and he answers it.

Trenton: Trenton and Sarge here.

Qrow: We're getting everyone out of Vale and Beacon. Where are you two?

Trenton: Top of Ozpin's tower.

Qrow: Hold tight, we're heading over.

Trenton: Qrow, Ruby didn't make it. I'm terribly sorry.

Qrow: Damnit. What happened?

Trenton: Salem cut her eyes and dropped her over the ledge. I was able to grab Ruby's hand. I was pulling her up and Cinder make me lose my grip. I wasn't strong enough.

Qrow: We couldn't find Yang or their teammate Blake.

Trenton: I hate to be that guy, but they might not have made it. I don't have a lot of faith right now.

Qrow: I'll look around myself, just board the bullhead when it arrives.

They hang up.

Sarge: What do we do with these two?

Trenton: I don't know about you, but I'm gonna kill 'em.

Sarge: Well, they are terrorists.

Trenton walks towards Emerald, who slowly gets up. He kicks her knee, bringing her down.

Trenton: Your senpai just left you here. That means I can kill you slowly.

Emerald: Cinder will come for us.

Trenton: You're in denial. She couldn't give a rat's ass about you. After all, she'll do anything for her Mistress. You are just canon fodder.

Trenton walks over to Mercury and picks him up by his throat. He walks towards the ledge of the tower. Trenton drops Mercury and watches him splatter on the pavement below.
