Chapter 14

After quite some time, everyone arrives at the base. Trenton parks T-rection in the motor pool.

Trenton: Here we are. Home sweet home. Well, as sweet as it gets anyway.

Everyone exits the vehicle, Sarge holding an unconscious Weiss.

Sarge: Let's get to med bay, then we'll show you around real quick.

Flex: This place seems impressive.

They quickly get Weiss into a medical bed and Sarge tells the medics to let them know if she wakes.

Sarge: Trent, you coming along?

Trenton: Nah. There's something I gotta take care of. I'll meet everyone in the command center.

Sarge: Alright, we'll meet you there.

Trenton: Yep.

Sarge walks off with Tai, Ruby, Zwei, Flex, and Fischer. Trenton grabs a pair of tweezers and a scalpel before heading into a restroom. He then removes his upper armor before taking off his hoodie and shirt. He looks at the place he's been shot. His body managed to heal, leaving a very pale white spot. Some dark red veins are visible on his chest.

Trenton: Alright, buddy. Let's get that shrapnel out.

He slits the area open with the scalpel before searching through and finding part of the bullet that broke off. He then uses the tweezers, slowly pulling out the shrapnel. Once he fully removes it, he lets out a deep breath and his body starts to heal. He watches as his wound closes.

Trenton: Thanks, man.

He inspects the shrapnel for a bit before he places on his hoodie. He places the shrapnel in a plastic cup and picks up his other belongings. Trenton heads into the armory, not expecting to see Pietro and a rebuilt Penny.

Trenton: Uhh... Hello?

Penny: Salutations!

She does a little salute as Trenton awkwardly waves.

Pietro: Greetings. Sarge informed me that you guys needed a few upgrades.

Trenton: You realize there's a lot of us, right?

Pietro: I'm not doing it all on my own.

Trenton: How long have you been here?

Pietro: A few days.

Penny: Sixty nine hours to be exact.

Trenton: Nice.

Pietro then makes an announcement over the speakers of the base.

Pietro: Could the rest of team GATR come down to the armory?

Trenton: Wait, you know who we are?

Pietro: Of course. I know all of Penny's friends. You were the first to figure out she was a robot too. When everyone was wondering why she seemed so different from the rest you, you tried explaining that she was a robot and they didn't believe you.

Trenton: I knew due to my semblance. I can feel electrical currents and all that. Houses, scrolls, car batteries, computers. You get the point.

After sometime, the rest of team GATR arrive.

Ray: Shit, dude! You got fucking shot!

Trenton: We get shot like every day, man.

Ray: Not like that!

Grey: Sarge told us what happened. You feeling alright?

Trenton: Yeah, I'm good.

Ajax: As long as you're good, we're good. We don't want to lose our little bro.
