The day has come with clouds of grey.
Grim is the rain that hides the sun of May.

Anabel wakes on the sheets her love made fray.
Her legs demand in bed she must stay.
Her loving husband is not beside her, thus her legs have to obey.

Their abode she searches but does not find Matthias with dismay.
"He must be at the park, it is where he is when he feels gay."

The trees, with the rain, have stopped to sway.
The water has made the leaves wet and weigh.
Behind a tree, on the ground, she sees a red spray.

Feet flying, dress in hand, she runs to the tree without delay.
Their she finds the pieces of her heart scatter away.
On the ground lies Matthias, a knife in his neck where her kisses lay.

One hand on her womb, she wails, "Life again has me betrayed."
The blood from her legs mixes with her lover's clay.
Death not only took one life from her but two he slay.

The shadows of her past, with her mind play.
She tries but cannot keep her demons at bay.
Lying beside Matthias in the park, on her soul darkness preys.
