I understand things like I've walked these paths,
I've seen these birds,
I've breathed in these winds,
swam these streams in the deep, blue sea.
I feel everything like I've felt it before.
I cry under the skies that understand what I say, they hold my hand and lead me down trails
and they tell me that I have done it before
and I can do it again,
and I will do it some more.
The sun shines from underneath my skin like golden ashes in old urns,
and the leaves in the wind understand where I'm coming from
and keep me from feeling alone,
because they know they understand that my body is all mine and my soul is not my own.
