Norma slammed the office door shut whilst exhaling an angry and exasperated groan. Unable to control her outburst of anger she kicked the door, cursing in the process for hurting her foot. 'Ow, fuck'

Unbeknown to Norma, Dylan had driven home from the farm to collect a few things and check in a friend who was coming to work for him. Dylan was totally unaware of an emotional Norma heading for the office and he jumped out his skin as he heard the door slam. He peered out from the back office only to see a very distressed Norma, leaning against the door with her shirt open and everything underneath on show. His heart raced as his mind imagined the worst, what had happened to her and why was she half dressed and so upset. Dylan spoke up, which startled Norma causing her to immediately grab her shirt and pull it tight around herself,

'Norma, what the hell? What happened to you? Are you okay? Why is your shirt open? Did someone hurt you?

Norma's eyes glazed over, she couldn't think straight,

'Hey Norma, listen to me? Ar-are you okay? Wait why the hell are you all wet?'

Norma let out a little gasp as she tried to get a handle on her breathing, Dylan's questions annoyed her, why was he even here in the first place? She just wanted to be alone to hate on herself and her stupid pathetic fears and insecurtites.

'Why are you here Dylan? I thought you were up at the farm?'

'Norma i was but i needed to check someone in, that is helping me out just now, but that doesn't matter right now, tell me what happened? Who did this to you?'

Norma rolled her eyes, frustrated with his insistent questions, she looked in his eyes to tell him to leave and she was stunned to see sadness, it was written all over his face, he was genuinely worried about her. Her face softened and she burst into tears, Dylan went over to her and comforted her as best he could, it was rare for them to be affectionate.

'Norma please, what happened?'

'Dylan, i'm okay. Its not as bad as it looks, and nobody hurt me, quite the opposite.'

Dylan raised an eyebrow, he knew the sheriff was booked into one of the motel rooms after his recent flood, and he also knew how he felt about Norma and how she felt about him, although his mother would never admit it, she had pretty strong feelings towards him but she was too pig-headed to admit it.

'Norma...did you just come from Romero's room..'

Norma cheeks flushed scarlet red and she darted her eyes to the floor, embarrassed to admit that she did just come from his room and that she'd left him half naked and looking incredibly vulnerable. Dylan was confused by her behaviour, why was she out here and upset? Had he turned her down? Had she changed her mind. Concern crept across his face.

'Okay so i take that as a yes you came from his room....what happened? You don't look too happy. I thought you liked him..'

Normas was taken aback, she thought all this time her feelings for Alex had been subtle and that no one knew about them, clearly she was mistaken.

'I know for a fact Norma that he likes you, he really, really likes you. And you know what, he's not a bad guy, he's pretty decent as it goes. He might look like he's wearing eyeliner and mascara but he seems legit, not to mention how much he's helped you when he hasn't needed to. Norma i think he loves you'

Norma sighed, when did Dylan get so damn smart, she was suddenly aware of her being so exposed and started to button up her shirt, without thinking she admitted that she knew he loved her, he'd told her a few weeks ago, but things had been strained between them.

'Let me guess Norma, you put your walls up and didn't let him in? I don't see the problem here, this man has already told you he loves you, he proves it in ways most men would never think to, he got you your car back! He covered for you when you killed Keith! And he's looked out for Norman! What more do you need? I know you love him too, you're just too proud and too obstinate to admit it'

Norma's face dropped, she was highly offended by his insults although she knew he was right, annoyingly he was fricken right'

'HEY. I'm still your mother Dylan'

She shouted back angry and defensive.

'Norma, look, I'm sorry. But its just so frustrating. Alex isn't like the others that you've been with, he isn't Sam, he wouldn't hurt you like they did. It was awful what you went through, nobody deserves that, I can't believe what Sam put you through, put us all through, but Alex isn't like that. Please, please for once in your life think about you and what you want. Let Alex in. Allow yourself to be happy. Forget everyone else. Forget Norman. Look just go back, go back and talk to him or whatever else you wer-...never mind. Just go talk to him alright?'

Norma's cheeks blushed again and the thought of her son knowing what they were away to do embarrassed her a little.

'Thank you Dylan, that means a lot. I know he's a good guy, it's just hard ya know, and yes i'll go talk to him or something. Thank you again'

'You're welcome Mom'

'Dylan! You just called me Mom! Aww thank you honey. I love you so much'

'Love you too Mom'

Dylan smiled, happy he had gotten through to her, something that was a rarity. Although the thought of his own mother going into Alex's room and picking things up where they left off and her seducing him made him cringe, he never wanted to see that image again.

Norma smiled, she embraced Dylan with loving arms and pecked him on the cheek thanking him again for his kind words and advice. Dylan noticed that she had such a bounce in her step, like she was going on her very first ever date, even if she was his mother and it was cringe he was happy for her. She deserved to feel happy and feel loved.

'Hey Norma, i take it i don't need to talk to you about being safe and all..you know about contracept-'

Norma knew straight away he was joking but she was mortified.

'Oh my god Dylan, yes yes yes, jesus. Oh and don't tell your brother please. I want to enjoy this for as long as i can before he complicates things'

Dylan scrunched his nose up,

'Okay gross! That's enough Norma, please leave now'

Norma giggled and opened the door, excited to go see Alex and pick up where they left off, she just hoped she hadn't put him off.
