CHAPTER 4

Jaey was on house arrest for three days until he was well enough to be able to take a walk in the garden, Albert always tailing behind him.

These days albert was overly attentive toward jaey. Jaey was soon able to help janella with paper works again and janella who was true to her words didn't leave or sneak out to train with her sword but she would leave as soon as she had finished her paper works.

The Mishka estate was quite loud these few days. Jaey had gotten a visit from a very worried lady linda who had brought with her a very well known doctor who said the same thing as Jaey's doctor.

And today Jaey was writing a letter to his cousin who had planned to visit the day after. But while Jaey was about to finish his letter, bursting into his Study was Edward Mishka, their cousin.

" Jaey! What in the world are you doing behind that table" he said horrified to see his sickly cousin who had just recently recovered sitting behind a study table with a pen in hand and to his left was a pile of paper.

Jaey was suprised to see his cousin who was supposed to visit tomorrow.

"what are you doing here?"

"what are YOU doing THERE" His cousin countered.

"calm down edward" jaey laughed standing up from his table while calling unto a maid to prepare the guests room since  Edward would be staying in the estate. It was a good thing the Viscount and viscountess were away at the moment.

Jaey gestured at the seats which Edward sat down and was served with tea and some snacks.

"what brings you here earlier than scheduled " jaey asked with a smile on his face while he lifted the tea to his lips Edward scoffed at jaey.

"i don't know. Maybe because my sickly cousin who suddenly collapsed wouldn't wake up for a week and didn't even bother write to me."

"i was unconscious. How could i write" jaey said laughing.

"and i was writing you a letter at the moment" he said glancing at the piece of paper on his desk.

Edward sighed and sipped on his tea.
"seriously Jaey i thought you were a goner." he said with a serious tone making jaey frown.

"i may be sick but I'm not dying " that was a lie and Jaey knew that.

Edward shook his head. Edward was the only cousin jaey was close to and He was also once a heir candidate.

Out of 6 cousins; four males and 2 female (excluding jaey and janella) Edward was the most capable out of all of them. He was smart, wise and was a master of swords. Edward was the eldest out of all of them but there was one aspect that failed him from being recognized as the successor, his romantic interest prohibited him from creating a heir. Edward was into men.

Of course they could always pick up or adopt children but then again the Mishka's gave importance to bloodline and having a direct descendant to inherit the title viscount was considered Goodluck and besides won't you want to keep all the fortune for your family?

"what is aunt and uncle even doing" edward whispered his forehead creasing and creating lines.

Edward didn't understand his uncle and aunts hate for Jaey. Jaey was smart and reliable and that should be  enough. It was actually amazing how jaey looked like he was born with slow physical maturity rather than being sick.

" by the way where is Janella?" edward said finally noticing that the house was unusually quiet.

"janella had some duties requiring her outside"
