Janella stood with a menancing gaze  directed towards Viscount Waren, their father.

The viscountess, Marianne, Janella and Jaeys mother sobbed and gracefully wiped away her tears with a handkerchief.

The three who were in the Viscounts office had a heavy atmosphere upon them, it was no different from their past meeting or talk that they had.

Janella peeled her glaring eyes away from her father and on to the opened letter on the table that was between her and the Viscount.

The seal was already removed, a golden seal, meaning it was from the royal family.

Janella wearily glanced back to her father. A letter from the royal family, Janella was sure there weren't any formal events being held by them nor did it seem appropriate that the Viscount was exchanging letters with the kings or anyone from that side.

Besides The Viscount was a part of the rebels. Something Janella wasn't fond of.

"a letter from the king i presume" Janella stated as a matter of fact. To Janellas confusion this made her mother sob even more.

The Viscount nodded at a butler beside him who took the letter and read it out loud.

"A direct order from the king" he begun.

"To celebrate the war won by the Grand duke Coventry , A child of the Mishka family has been chosen as The Grand duke's fiancée"

"what?" Janella blurted out. She did not expect this at all. For her to be married  to the well known tyrant of a  Grand Duke.

"just as you have heard" the Viscount said with a frown. To the Viscount, it seemed like an insult. It wasn't a secret that they weren't fond of the current king but there was no proof that they had been supporting the rebels behind the scenes

And it was even a greater insult to the mishkas for one of  them to marry the illegitimate child of the royal family when they held their blood line valuable!

"we can't let our blood line be tainted by such...such monster!" The Viscountess cried out. Janella glanced at her mother and scoffed to herself.

Of course. That was all that mattered to her.

"we can not disobey a royal order without a legitimate reason" The Viscount said through gritted teeth.

"let's say that Janella is gravelly ill or...or she is on d-deaths door until they have find a new fiancee for the Grand duke!" the Viscountess said through her tears.

Janella was indifferent and was silently watching them both.

That reason was very unlikely to be believed. Almost everyone knows Janella to be energetic, almost too energetic.

"why can't it be Jaey instead!" the Viscountess suddenly said. Janella flinched.

Suddenly, the Viscount smiled. It was a great idea. Janellas eyed widened and slammed her hands on the desk in anger after realizing what the viscount was planning.

"it's not possible! It won't work! They'll find out right away!" Janella almost pleaded not to send Jaey to that well known tyrant.

Jaey is sickly and may not be able to handle the stress. Janella knew Jaey had limited time and she wanted that time for him to be peaceful.

The Viscount was silent.

" we'll all die if Jaey is found out!" she desperately reasoned. The Viscountess now had a small smile on her lips. She held Janella by the shoulders "you will not marry that monster, Janella, dear. You will be the next Viscountesa and you will continue the legacy of the golden mishkas"
