When my heart stops beating, there will be no sun in the sky
The birds will make no sound as they fly
Flowers will fall and cease to blossom
The world will lose what once made it awesome
The oceans will cry out with tribulation
And melancholy will replace all happiness and jubilationFor now though, my heart has to keep on beating
There are dreams to reach and journeys that are just starting
My heart shall cease to beat not, for it will always have love
It shall live to make rainbows from the color of a dove
It shall remain the source of light to the darkness of my being
And shall keep my visions alive when I'm too frail to keep on seeingWhen my heart stops beating, I shall not die
The world will mourn my body but there will be something to remamber me by
My poetry will be the anchor that keeps me alive
Like Shakespeare's memory, through decades I shall survive
I just hope that when I take my last breath,
I'd have enough poems and there will be nothing to regret.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
