Jalen looked after his friends as he stayed behind in the hallway outside of the time machine room door.
"There's no need to be afraid. Just as you need to go back in time to warn Dr. King, I have a warning for you," the professor solemnly spoke.
"What is it?"
"Jalen. All is not as it seems now. Life, the way it is now, it's frustrating for you. It changes you. You have the intelligence to become very powerful. You become very powerful. You use your intelligence and power wisely, however," the professor proceeded to speak slowly.Noting the difficulty that the professor was having Jalen began to shift from one leg to the other as he often did when he got nervous.
"Jalen, once you gain power, you will accomplish many a great thing but it will not come without peril. Do good anyway. But Jalen, once you start on your path, there will be men who will try to stop you. Men with connections the likes of which you can't even begin to imagine. With this group on your side, you can accomplish anything. Stay close to them. Michael included."
"Yes, sir. I don't understand what you mean, sir," Jalen was beyond confused; he didn't think of his future often. He only knew that he would do whatever it took to ensure that his family had a better life than the one they had now.
"I know you don't understand now. Just don't forget my words," the professor ended his warning to Jalen then opened the door.
