Logan POV
________________
The first incident was about a week ago.
It was a nice day out, perfect weather. Cloudy, but not so much that it was dreary or feared to rain. There was a nice breese, and the sun was comfortably warm.
Patton took Virgil to the park, Roman opted to stay home with me.
I was sitting on the porch swing reading a fascinating book on world war two. Roman was sitting next to me, bouncing ideas off of me.
"What if we tried another song?"
"Roman, sweetheart, that would work if we didn't just film the Christmas episode. You know this, I've explained it twice."
"Maybe It's because I feel like you are ignoring me." He grabs my free hand.
I put my book down and look at him to prove him wrong. The smile he gives me is enough to merit the break from reading.
"What if we did a question game? It would give us the chance to share more information about ourselves with the Fanders."
"That could work, although it seems to be a better backup plan."
He sighs, "You're right, of course. I'm just not in the mood today."
"Maybe you should take a break."
Roman sighs again. "Perhaps,"
"Maybe Patton will watch a film with you."
Roman hums in agreement distractedly.
"Kiss me if I'm wrong, but you were reading about psychology right?"
I lean over and kiss him on his lips. I can tell from this reaction that it was unexpected. But he told me to, so it's alright.
"World war two" I say, leaning back.
He seems disorientated, then says, "Tell me about it, maybe it will inspire me. " He lays his head in my lap.
I explain the book while he dozes off, half listening to me. I remember windchimes playing in the background.
.........................................
The second time I was with Patton. He had roped me into making cookies with him.
I was very careful to not mess them up, they ended up a little bit crispier than Patton makes them, but still well within the edible realm.
Roman hung from the doorframe. "Are those cookies I smell?"
"Yep!" Patton answers him. "Do you want one?"
"Of course!" He steps into the kitchen and takes a cookie from the plate on the stove.
Patton takes two, puts them on a napkin, and leaves. Presumably to take them to Virgil.
I busy myself with meaningless tasks. Putting away pans, dusting the counters, Etc
I turn around from returning something to the fridge, Roman is standing an almost uncomfortably close distance behind me.
I stand up straight
He wraps his arms around my neck loosely.
"Can I help you with something?" I ask him.
"Kiss me if I'm wrong, but these were chocolate chip cookies."
I lean upwards and kiss him, he tastes like peanut butter. He hums contentedly.
"Do you need anything else?"
"Another kiss?"
I kiss him again, then break away to continue the *fun* part of baking, dishes.
............................................
The next time I was cleaning out the Library in the dreamscape.
I normally did this alone, or maybe with Virgil. The only reason I ask him to join me is because I know he struggles with being wanted and having a sense of purpose.
Virgil has his headphones in and is a few rows away from me. He's dusting everything while I sort and declutter the books.
I hear someone enter the library.
"Oh hello Virgil, have you seen Logan?" I hear Roman ask a few rows down.
I smile to myself as I have an idea. It's completely irrational and pointless, but it seems like fun.
I carefully put the book I was holding away then sneak down to a few rows down.
"I think he's a few shelves down from here, I don't actually know, he's sorting the books so he could be anywhere."
"Alright, thank yo—he isn't listening to me" I can basically see Romans face doing the "hmm, well that just happened" flat mouth thing.
I hear Roman's footsteps come closer, I move to the end of one of the rows so he can't see me.
He passes me, I smile because I was able to deceive him.
I go back to where I was originally, Roman has passed me and is well on his way to the other side of the library by now.
I go back to sorting my books. After a surprisingly long time Roman finds me.
"Logan, there you are. My prince, I've been looking everywhere for you."
I try hard to keep a smile from my face.
He raises his eyebrow as he approaches me. I look away from him, focusing on sorting the books.
Roman puts his hand against the bookshelf next to me.
I turn around and calmly ask "Can I help you?" It's hard for me to keep a smile from my face.
"Kiss me if I'm wrong, but you were standing here the entire time and I just walked by without seeing you."
I don't hide the smile on my face anymore.
I bring my hand up to cup his cheek. I pull his face towards mine in a soft kiss.
Someone coughs at the end of the isle.
I break the kiss and look to see who it is.
Virgil stands leaning against one of the shelves. "I'm done, Just wanted to let you know so you weren't looking for me."
"Alright, thank you Virgil." I cough lightly, shifting back into my normal professional attitude.
He smiles at us, knocks on the shelf then leaves.
Roman and I stay frozen until we hear the library door close. Our eyes meet and we burst into laughter.
Roman rests his head on my shoulders laughing so hard he can barely say. "Oh my goodness that was so awkward."
I don't have anything to say, and I enjoy hearing and watching Roman laugh. So I stay silent.
