May 16, 2036, it was Friday...
"Micky, gising na! We're late already!", David yelled from the kitchen, echoing at every corner of the house. Micky opened his eyes, he remembered that it was their moving-up ceremony. He stood up out of the bed, he was looking at the door and ready to grab the doorknob to go downstairs. He even forgot to wear his slippers (flip-flops) so he had to go back. "Ugh, bilis, suotin mo, bat ayaw pumasok.", Micky muttered as he was trying to fit his foot onto his slippers, "Baliktad pa, bahala na nga."
He ran down the stairs, with his slippers at the wrong side of his foot. He didn't even take a time to put his eyes towards outside the window or at his clock to see if they were already late. Footsteps were rushing down the stairs as Micky was running. And then he saw the dimmed street outside, it was still early in the morning.
He looked at the clock, "5:30 palang pala.", he muttered. The moving-up ceremony is still 8:00 AM, still it is a good time to wake up to prepare for a ceremony that is once in a lifetime. From rapid footsteps heard from the stairs, to turtle footsteps was heard at the hallway towards the kitchen.
David was looking at the hallway, waiting patiently for Micky to show up. Ella was already taking a bath as Micky has just woken up. "Good morning, dad.", "Good morning, son", "5:30 palang pala eh,", Micky muttered. "Late na nga yun eh, we were actually supposed to wake up at 4:00 AM.", David said. Micky sat on the chair and ate his breakfast.
"Ash, can you pick up the garbage and place it outside?", David walks near the hallway, "Garbage collection will be done later.", he said as Ash is walking towards the kitchen from the living room. "Sure, dad. Sa dating spot na pinaglalagyan?", he asked as he was walking towards where the garbage bin that is in the kitchen, David then nodded yes. "I'll go take a bath, make sure to watch Micky", "Sure, dad".
Ash collected the garbage bags from each bin at the first floor of the house. He was humming again to the tune of grateful, it's his favorite song; he hums it everywhere he goes. He was walking down the hallway with his hands holding 4 trash bags. It stunk. As he walked down the hallway, the smell of the garbage was smelt by Micky. "Ambaho." his appetite didn't go really well. Ash opened the door, as he walks outside the dimmed street of Genver.
As he placed the trash at the side walk, his mind was making up things as if someone was staring at him at the distance. He looked left and right as he goes back the house, but he never really saw someone. As he closed the door, not locking it, he opened it again and looked fast outside to see if there is someone trying to sneak behind him. There was no one. He then closed the door, but he forgot to lock it.
"Micky, I'll be upstairs...", Ash said as he is walking back down the hallway to pick up the trash from upstairs. Ella was finished taking a bath in the bathroom that is connected in the kitchen.
"Oh, anak, good morning. Kakagising mo lang?", she asked, "Opo ma, good morning din!". Ella was cleaning her ears with cotton buds as she is walking pass Micky. "Moving-up Ceremony na ni anak ko mamaya ah.", she chirped. Micky just giggled as he was chewing. "Excited kana ba?", "Opo ma, kanina po sabi ni dad late na daw po tayo, maaga pa pala.", as he was still chewing his food, "Syempre, para magising ka."
As Ella walks in the hallway, her eyes widen for what she saw. She lowered her eyebrows, her forehead wrinkled. She stopped cleaning her ears, its like she can't move a muscle. Ella saw the door halfway open, and she knew there is no way it would have opened if someone was outside, or someone has trespassed. "Bat 'to bukas?", she stuttered, walking towards the door and holding the doorknob as if she was an investigator trying to find clues of whom have done it. She looked outside, left and right. She saw the garbage bags. "Si Ash iniwan nanaman yung pintuan na bukas.", she muttered as she closed the door behind her and walks down the hallway and proceeded to clean her ears. She saw Ash, holding two trash bags as he is walking down the stairs.
