VIII - New Start

"I'm sorry about your father...", Micky said, his face staring into space; he could just imagine how hard that would have been for Aldwine. I mean he lost both his parents. "... alam naman natin na-", he paused for a second remembering his mother and father, "nasa better place na sila ngayon; kung saan mas maganda at mas mapayapa kaysa dito sa mundong ito.", he said as he looked at Aldwine trying to cheer him up. "Thanks Micky.", memories still flew over both their heads, and then they smiled for they both knew that they had found the friend that is meant for them.

"By the way, Micky, are your parents still with you today?", suddenly asked Aldwine; he was looking straight into Micky's eyes, hoping that he could know just by the looks of him without telling his backstory. Micky was hesitated to answer; he just stared at the blank red flooring inside their classroom. Then he looked at Aldwine.

"They're both gone, Aldwine...", he said as he looked back at the flooring, "... Wala na sila.". Aldwine didn't bother to know Micky's backstory, for he knew that it would also hurt him remembering the past. Two kids both orphaned; one by his father, and the other one both his father and mother. 

Aldwine's an average guy, he is also quite attractive to some girls in the class, although he is always being taunted due to his ignorance. But Micky didn't let this happened so long, he defended Aldwine from everyone who tried to tease him. Micky started to change, he started it with Aldwine. But as what the song said, "If you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and then make a change.", and it was ignored by Micky. 

Micky's lack of confidence and hope drastically dropped under 0; yes, it was negative. He always depended himself on Aldwine whenever he makes decisions; they both depended on each other. Micky's flaw is that he never really looked in a mirror and reflected the cause of all his flaws. 

Changing an effect won't erase the cause, and that effect will come back at any cost.

It was a new start for Micky and Aldwine, they both had someone to support each other. But that doesn't mean that new starts are always positive...

November 17, 2039, Thursday

The class of Section Earth was having a free time, every one of them was standing around, talking to each other; some are even throwing rolled papers at each other from the front to the back of the room. Micky's seatmate that time was Aldwine. They were chatting with each other when Jack Morrison came near them and wanted to play a game with them.

Flashback...

2038, September 28

"Kung 'di ka pupunta mamaya bubugbugin ka namin!", exclaimed Jack to Micky. Micky was being taunted by Jack to go behind the comfort room at Block A (Grade Levels 1-2) to do... yeah, to smoke cigarettes. "Oo na, p-punta na ako.", Micky babbled looking at the ground not able to look straight at Jack. "Tignan mo ako!", he said holding Micky's face to look at his eyes, "Sabihin mo pupunta ka mamaya.", he said fiercely at Micky, scaring him to death. "O-oo, p-punta ako.", Micky said, his heart beating fast. 

Later dismissal, Micky couldn't feel his heart beating, even though it was faster than the speed of his pace. He was sweating nervously, hoping not to be seen by Jack and his woeful friends. 

"Micky!", shouted a man from behind, it was familiar, it sent shivers down his spine. "Micky, hoy!", the man shouted again, his voice rumbled as he was running towards him. Micky rushed towards the waiting shed, not even looking who it was; he knew inside his head that it was Jack and his friends.
