Mordred's POV
Emrys helped me finish getting ready for the ceremony. As much as I tried to get him to stop treating me like I was above him, he just didn't care. He moved swiftly around me to tighten the armor. I couldn't keep my eyes from following him when he was standing in front of me. His hands were working on straightening everything, concentration set on his face. He was so handsome. I couldn't believe he wanted me to be with him. My heart almost stopped when he asked me.
I didn't like that he was acting like my servant when I should be the servant to him. He wouldn't let me, but I would try to anyways.
"Are you nervous?" Emrys asked me suddenly.
"Sort of, I'm hoping I don't fall on my face tonight."
"Don't worry, I'll watch out for you."
I smiled as someone knocked on the door. Emrys moved to open it, he let Arthur inside. I bowed my head, "My lord."
"Just wanted to make sure you were alright. Merlin isn't always the best servant." He joked with us.
"Everything is fine, my lord."
"He never gets my armor this clean, Merlin are you wanting to work for Mordred?" He laughed with Emrys. "He does treat me better." Arthur punched Emrys's arm in a joking manner.
"Alright well, I'm off. I will see you later, Mordred." He said goodbye and left.
"I should probably go too. I need to change and help Gaius with some stuff before we go." Emrys stated. I was sad he needed to go, but it's not like I could keep him here with me forever. He gave me a small kiss before leaving me in the room with my thoughts and worries for tonight.

Merlin's POV
I don't like leaving Mordred alone. I'm afraid that he will lose control of his magic. He mentioned that it was a little easier now that he knew what it felt like. I don't know what I would do if someone saw him use magic and Arthur found out.
I know deep inside that I shouldn't have these feelings about him, but I just couldn't help it. He is just so sweet and pure. The way our magic dances with each other is so surreal. I can be myself with him and I don't have to hide my magic. Maybe I can change the future, after all, it isn't set in stone.
I walked into Gaius's chambers saying a hello, moving toward my room. "Merlin?" I heard Gaius call to me. I stopped and turned around. "Where have you been going lately?" I sighed, knowing that he knew something was up.
"What do you mean?"
"You have been running out late at night and trying to find whatever excuse you can to get away from Arthur, so I want to know what is going on."
I sat there and thought of anything I could say to him to get out of this. I couldn't think of anything, there was no reason I should have to lie to him anyways. He would support me. Right?
"The truth is, I have been trying to get to see Mordred as much as I can," I said truthfully, he just sat there and thought about it for a moment.
"Why would you want to see him? It is his destiny to kill the king." He asked, knowing the truth.
"Trust me, I think about that all the time. But I can't stop the way that I feel about him, the way I feel around him."
He blinked taking in my words. He slowly nodded.
"I'm hoping I can stop him from his destiny, surely his fate can be changed," I stated.
"So, you love the Druid boy?" He asked, I just nodded. "I can't help it, I tried to fight it. I couldn't." I told him.
"Alright, as long as you are happy Merlin. And as long as you don't let him interfere with your work and your destiny." I nodded and said that it wouldn't come between anything.
I walked to my room and changed into new clothes for the ceremony. Before I knew it, it was time. I walked with Gaius to the banquet hall where it was to be held. I saw Arthur and the rest of the knights and court members.
Mordred, are you ready? , I asked him through our link.
Yes, I believe so. Someone is out here to tell me when to go in. Thank you, Emrys for checking.
How could I not? I wanted him to be ready for anything. I have your back, don't worry.
I could almost feel his happiness. It made me smile a bit. Arthur started a speech, announcing what he was going to be doing and such. Boring stuff. Soon the doors opened and Mordred began to walk through the path, I smiled at him as he smiled back. He got to Arthur and kneeled in front of him.
Arthur lifted his sword and began, "Arise, Sir Mordred. Knight of Camelot," He tapped Mordred's shoulders and Mordred stood and bowed to the king before turning to the crowd. Everybody started clapping and cheering. We all made our way to where the feast was being held in a different part of the castle. The knights and court members sat with the King and the servants began to do what we do. Serving people.
I knew Mordred hated that I was serving on him, but he could get over it. I continued with the rest of the knights and eventually was just standing around waiting for someone to need a refill. Arthur called me to his side.
"How is Mordred settling in?" He asked.
"Pretty good I believe. He was really happy about the ceremony today. He wouldn't stop talking about proving his loyalty to you and Camelot." I stated.
"Good thing. Take care of what he needs for the next couple of days. I will be in the courtroom most of the days anyways." I nodded to him and muttered an 'of course' before making my way around the table. Filling wine and water as I went.
I got to Mordred and poured his water and tried to pour some more wine, but he placed his hand on the cup, "No thanks, I shouldn't drink more." I bowed to him and heard Elyan start to tease him,
"A lightweight Sir Mordred?" He laughed and Mordred just chuckled and went along with it. He seemed happy. That made me happy.
Are you okay, Emrys?
I am fine Mordred, just thinking about how you seem happy is all.
I am happy, thanks to you.
I smiled a little to him, trying to not arouse suspicion.
Suddenly, the doors busted open. A bunch of knights flooded the hall as the Camelot knights stood and readied their swords to fight the foreign knights. My eyes flashed to Mordred, before moving toward the king to protect him. A man entered the hall being protected by his knights.
"Cenred." Arthur spits with ice. "What is the meaning of this?"
"I believe your reign is over with, Arthur." He threw back. Arthur drew his sword as the fighting started. Cenred's men were outnumbered, but that didn't stop them. Arthur was fighting and I was trying to stay out of the way before a man ran up to me trying to kill me. I used my magic to throw him against the wall and knock him out. Grabbing his sword I began to fight another.

The battle came to an end and we had Cenred in custody. He was being dragged to the cells as Gaius and I looked over the wounded. I scanned the room looking for Mordred. I didn't see him. Panic started rising in me.
Mordred? Mordred where are you?
Nothing.
"Gaius, do you see Mordred?" He looked up and around before looking at me and shaking his head. "I'm going to look for him!" He just nodded before I took off.
"Merlin what are you doing?" Arthur asked me. I turned to him, "We can't find Mordred." With that he ran around the room, looking through the fallen knights. I ran into the hallway where the battle had spread. I looked at every face. Seeing nothing, I was panicking and becoming worried.
Mordred, answer me, please.
