Elyan's POV

"Nothing is boring with you, Emrys."

Mordred called Merlin, Emrys? Merlin was Emrys? That didn't make any sense. Why would they hide their relationship? I knew neither of them saw me, I tried to hide as they looked back. I am going to have to talk to Mordred or Merlin about this at some point.

Merlin's POV

The knight's gathered in the courtyard as I readied the horses, ready to ride. Today we were leaving for the Isle of the Blessed. Gaius had warned me and Arthur about the isle. Saying it was the source of the Old Religion, suggesting that it is why Morgana had chosen it. The usual knights were riding out with us, including Mordred. It was his first official ride out since he became a knight. I was glad we wouldn't be apart for long, but we couldn't actually be together around the other knights.

I stayed with Mordred last night, just trying to spend as much time as his boyfriend as I could before having to just be the servant for another two weeks. We rode through the gates of Camelot and head toward the Island. We rode all day, as the sun started to set we stopped to make camp. I started the fire, made dinner, took care of the horses, and washed the dishes. I was leaving to gather firewood for the night. I took my time to collect the wood, enjoying the night's crisp air. I looked into the night sky. Seeing all the stars, I remembered always looking at the stars with my mother back in Ealdor. I smiled at the memories flooding my mind.

Emrys, are you okay? You've been gone for a while.

Yeah, sorry. Got lost in thought. On my way back now.

I reached the camp and all the knights were asleep except for Mordred. He has sat away from the sleeping knights, poking at the fire with a stick. I moved around him and sat the wood down, putting some of it into the fire. "Everything okay, sire?" I asked him.

"Just didn't want to go to sleep right now. Figured I would keep watch for a little bit." He said. I could tell something was bothering him. I wasn't sure if I should ask him about it or not.

I have a bad feeling about this trip, Emrys.

Why?

I don't know. I feel like something bad is going to happen.

Don't worry that pretty little head of yours, I'll make sure to watch over everyone.

I will watch over you then, Emrys.

Thank you, Mordred.

I wish I could hug you, I can't sleep. To much worry in my mind.

I reached my magic out to him to surround him, hoping that it would help. He smiled at me and motioned to me to follow him. Confused, I followed him away from the group into the woods. Once we were a good distance away he pulled me into a hug. I hugged him back quickly. Feeling our magic do the usual dance, it never got old. It always felt like the first time.

He buried his face into my neck and left a gentle kiss. I smiled and rested my cheek to his head and held him. We stayed like that for some time, not wanting to pull away.

"It's going to suck not being able to do this for a while," Mordred said quietly.

I nodded. Knowing how he felt. I didn't know how I was going to handle this for the rest of the trip. I just wanted to tell all the knights, just so we could be together. It wouldn't work that way though. I am sure that they would support us, but I know Arthur would be worried that it would interfere with our jobs. Even though I wouldn't let it.
