Waking up my whole face aches. I look in the bathroom mirror seeing a faint bruise on my cheek. I brush my teeth and do my morning routine.
"Morning" I smile walking in the kitchen seeing my brother
"Wassup? You sleep good" he says looking a little worried and I nod. "Uh there's cereal and shit here. Take take the day off from school. Okay? I gotta head to work" he says putting on his construction boots
"I don't know" I haven't took a day off from school since I got the flu
"It's not a choice. Relax I'll be back around five" he says sternly and walks out his apartment
Sighing I pick up my phone from the charger seeing a bunch of miss calls and text.
5 miss calls from mom
Mom: Savannah are you okay Mom: please call me baby. I miss you
Sam😌: I'm passing by Shane's later to come see you
Layla: are you okay? I heard what happened. Call a girl back
Lana: u okay?
Dave❤️: Baby call me when you wake up.
I decided to call my mom first.
"Hello?" I say as she answers
"Baby, are you okay? I heard what happened" sounds like she's been crying
"I'm okay" I say softly
"Where are you?" She says worriedly
"I'm just going to stay at Shane's for a while okay?" My voice cracks. I could feel tears comings
"Baby are you sure?"
"Yes, I can't-I can't come back. I need space" tears slip from my eyes
"Okay, well I'll see you soon" she sounds sad "love you"
"I love you too" I say hanging up the phone and wiping away my tears
Replying back to everyone else except Dave I took out some cereal for my self.
I couldn't see Dave right now. I'm so embarrassed how i cried and broke down in front of him. No one should ever be able to see me like that.
I've worked so hard to build a wall up and keep smiling just for me to break in front of people.
I eat my cereal and watch an episode of criminal minds.
I drift back to sleep trying to get back all the extra hours I missed living at home.
Then I hear someone knocking on the door.
Can a girl get some sleep?
