"SIRIUS ORION BLACK, HOW DARE YOU DISRESPECT YOUR MOTHER AND THE NOBLE HOUSE OF BLACK. YOU OUGHT TO BE PUNISHED.Regulus, go to your room."

"B-But father, what about Sirius?"

"Nothing you need to worry about son, your mother and I are just going to teach him a lesson. Now go inside."

Regulus did not want to leave. One look at his brother and he feared the worst, what would happen to Sirius? No matter how much of a brave front Sirius put up in front of their parents, He could see it. Regulus could see the deeply hidden fear in those eyes.

He didn't want to anger his parents more but he couldn't just leave his brother. Then Sirius looked up at him with a pleading look in his eyes saying 'please go inside reg'
He went inside his room and quickly shut the door.
His bottle up frustration soon came out in a flow of hot tears running down his cheeks.
He could do nothing but wait for them to finish, so that he could help his brother.

After what had felt like hours passed, Regulus slowly peeped out of his room as he heard a door bang at the other end of the hallway. His father had probably shut himself in his office and his mother was no where to be seen; she must have gone upstairs.

Sirius. Where was he? He slowly made his way to the living room only to find his brother between up and bruised on the carpet.
He quickly rushed over to help him, slowly aiding him to his room.
He tried to heal some of his wounds when suddenly Sirius stood up and rushed over to his own room.
He had taken out his trunk and started putting his clothes in.
"What are you doing Siri?"
"I'm leaving reg. I can't take it anymore."
Regulus could see the broken look on his brother's face. He said nothing in reply, instead he started helping Sirius put the clothes in.
They worked together in silence.
Suddenly they both speak together at the same time,
"Stay"
"Come with me."
They look at each other. After being sorted in different houses,they hadn't been the closest. But whatever it was, they were always brothers first.
"I can't" they both replied together.
Both seemed to understand what the other meant as they nodded at each other.
They finished the packing and Sirius is on his way to leave his room as he walks to reg and embraces him in his arms.

Regulus returns the hug with just as much force. His big brother was leaving, because of their horrible parents and he couldn't go with him. He was a coward.
He was going to miss him, he felt his eyes well up as tears slowly started to drop onto Sirius' jacket.
If Sirius noticed,he didn't say anything.
"I love you Reggie,I'll always be there for you. Never forget that."

Sirius was proud and scared for his brother. He was so brave , to stand back alone and face their parents.
He kissed his forehead as if to symbolize his leaving gesture.

Regulus just held onto him more tightly.
" I love you too Siri, be safe and write to me."

The two brothers looked at each other with wet smiles as they headed in opposite directions.Sirius headed to the doorstep to leave and Regulus went towards his room.
They turned back to look at each other for the last time before finally Sirius left.

Regulus quickly ran into his room and sat down with his back touching the door.

It was then the actual flood of tears came down.
