Come to think of it, ain't it funny how two entirely different personalities can benifit each other.. Daryl thought to himself as he walked through the musky forest. Beth close by his side. Daryl didn't quite understand how exactly he got 'paired' up with beth. She was sweet, kind, loving.. Whereas he didn't show that side of him. Hell, I don't think anyone knew that side of him was even there to be honest.. He isn't one to show affection after all. ''What am I trackin' exactly?.'' Beth asked as she held Daryls cross bow. ''For now, walkers.'' Beth's big blue eyes scanned the dirt, searching for any sort of sign of a walker near by. ''There,'' She whispered, almost inaudiable. She was impressed Daryl even heard her. A walker was feasting on flesh as the two slowly approched. ''I'm gettin' good at this,'' Beth said with a smile. ''Pretty soon I won' need you at all.'' Daryl rolled his eyes and lightly nudged her in the walkers direction. ''Yeah yeah, keep on trackin'.'' Daryl stayed put behind a tree as he watched Beth slowly approch the walker. Snap! ''Fuck!.'' Beth cursed as she fell to the ground, clutching her ankle. The walker leaped towards her but Daryl quickly stabbed it in the head before it could touch her. He rushed over to her and snapped open the tiny bear trap that caught beths ankle. ''Y'all right? Can you move it?.'' He asked, carefully examining it. ''Yeah I'm good,'' She lied as she tried to get up but fell back down due to the pain. ''Fucks-ow-shit!.''She began to curse, causing Daryl to crack a slight smile. I must say its kinda cute when she swears..He thought to himself. ''Whatta you smiling at Dixon, help me up.'' Daryl grabbed both of her hands and brought her back to her feet. ''Be more careful, would ya?.'' His words came out harsher then he intended. ''Sorry.'' Beth whispered, slightly bowing her head. Daryl grunted in responce. ''Lets head south.'' He said, walking towards the thick bushes in front of him, Beth struggling to keep up with him. She walked for a good thirty minutes before the pain had become too much. ''Wait,'' She said, leaning on a tree. ''Y'all right?.''
''Yeah,'' She said swallowing hard. ''I just need to sit for a few minutes.'' Daryl's lips formed a straight line as he slung his cross bow over his shoulder and bent down. ''Get on.'' Beth raised an eyebrow. ''Are you serious?.'' She asked with a small smile. ''Yeah, its a serious piggy back,'' Daryl's voice was thick. ''Now get on.'' Beth obeyed and jumped onto his back.

The sun began to set and Daryl had decided to start setting up camp for the night. He carefully put beth down and wrapped her ankle before begining to set up the tent 'I'll start the fire.'' Beth said as she dug a hole in the ground. After the two had set up camp, they both sat around the fire. Beth stared into the flames. She found it fascinating how the yellow and orange flames flickered, sparked and crackled. ''Ya okay kid?.'' Daryl asked. His eyes studied her delicate face for some kind of emotion. ''Gotta be,'' She said, finally looking up at him. ''And I ain't a kid.'' It grew silent once more. ''Theres just so much I wanted to do..'' She finally spoke. Daryl stared at her, but kept quiet. ''Like there are things I wanted to do or try before I die..'' Daryl sighed. ''Like what?.'' His voice was thick and un amused, but for her sake he pretended to be interested. ''Have a real drink...'' Her voice trailed off. ''What else?.'' Daryl asked in the same un amused tone. Beth laughed for a moment. ''Have sex,'' She had caught Daryls attention now and let out a small laugh. ''Theres no time for intimacy in this world.'' He said honestly. ''But yous just a kid, ya' shouldn' be havin' sex now anyways.'' His words were short and harsh. ''I'm not a kid!.'' She yelled. Her eyes seemed as if they lit their own fire as she looked at him. ''I'm sick of bein' called a kid.'' Beth got up and limped to the tent, zipping it shut. Daryl sighed and stomped out the fire before crawling into the tent with her. Beth turned the other way and silently sobbed. ''I'm sorry.'' Daryl mumbled to her. Beth tensed up and slowly turned to face him. She nodded slightly, stray tears still rolling down her cheeks, and turned around again. Daryl closed his eyes and tried to sleep but her sobs were keeping him awake.
Daryl shocked himself at his actions and wrapped his arms around her stomach and pulled her into him. Beth flinched at first, but slowly but surely she soothed herself to sleep in his arms. Daryl was uncomfortable. He wasn't sure if he did this right or what. He never had to soothe someone to sleep before, and her sure as hell never had to do this either. Before he knew it, his eyes grew heavy and he himself had fallen asleep, still holding beth tightly in his arms.

Beths eyes fluttered open. Memories of last night rushed to her head. Did that actually happen..or was it all in my head.. She thought to herself. Daryl was already up, As per usual.. Daryl had always gotten up before her to fetch breakfast or keep watch. Beth took her hair out of its pony tail and retied it before unzipping the tent. Daryl sat by the empty fire pit, stabbing his knife into the wood over and over again. ''You okay?.'' She asked. Daryls eyes remained fixed on the knife. ''Gotta be.'' He mocked. Finally looking up at her. His eyes were bloodshot. Beth slowly sat down beside him, resting her hand on his shoulder and he flinched. ''I just wanna help you.'' She whispered to him. Daryls fists balled up. ''Why the fuck should I let you do that now! Huh?!.'' He screamed. Beth's eyes remained on him. Although she was scared, she was strong. ''Ya' don't have to let me help you,'' She said, lightly turning his face towards her. ''But i'm gunna either way.'' Her blue eyes scanned his face for some sort of emotion, but bit her lip when she found none. That was until she looked into his eyes. Daryl was angry and unhappy. ''Why are you so angry Daryl.'' She asked in a soft tone. He ignored her and looked back down at his knife. Beth grabbed the knife from the wood and tossed it in the direction of the tent. ''Daryl Dixon I asked you a question.'' She said firmly and he turned to look at her. ''I coulda' done somethin'.'' He finally said. Tears strolled down his cheeks. ''I coulda done somethin' to save your daddy or merle or sophia but I didn' speak up, I didn' do anythin'!.'' Beth felt her heart break. ''Daryl none of this is your fault,'' She started, wiping his tears with her thumb. ''You had done so much for that little girl, remember? You were always the first one lookin' for her every mornin','' Beth said. ''Hell you almost died 'cause of it!.'' Daryls head bowed. ''You did everythin' you could to save my daddy or merle or sophia. You're human Daryl, remember that.'' Beth wrapped her arms around him, he flinched at first, but found comfort in her arms.
''You know,'' She said lightly after letting go of Daryl. ''I was right.'' Daryl wiped his tears with the back of his hand before looking at her. ''There are still good people left in this world.'' Beth planted a small kiss on his cheek before getting up and walking towards the tent, leaving Daryl in awe.
My daddy always told me, we should help each other grow instead of tearing each other down..

Hey guys! so this is chapter two of my book. Now I made up some stuff in here, like I said in the disclaimer, I will not always be following the show with lines and scenes and stuff. I may somewhat kinda mirror the scenes but they wont really be the same. Personally I'm a shipper of Bethyl, hense why I wrote this. And I really feel like beth had done so much good for Daryl that near the end he had really softened up in the sense of opening up a little to people. Anyways im gunna quit rambling now. I hope you enjoyed the chapter! leave a vote or comment if you liked the story or think It could improve. I love feedback!
Have a good day! xx
