"This is for you." She coldly said to him as she put the bulky envelope in front of him, making him frowned with confusion all over his face.
"What is it?" He asked curiously. Taking the envelope, he then opened it and stunned as he saw the money in it. "Money? What—"
"I pay you my debt." Again, she answered him, still with her icily cold tone "I am sure you know what debt I was talking about."
Silence.
.
.
Looking towards her face, as he took in the silence around them, he then put the envelope onto the table again and pushed it towards her, "I don't want to accept it." He firmly said, "I've told you that you don't have to pay me again."
"But I want to."
"But I don't want to." He stubbornly said.
"Mr. Wang He Di..."
"And I don't want you to call me that way. Just call me Dylan or Didi."
"But..."
He raised his hand to stop her talk, "I mean it. Besides, can I ask you something? what kind of privilege I have until you called me that way?" He softly asked.
A frown began to appear between her brows, "A privilege? What are you talking about?"
"Well... You called the others by name, so why should you put a 'mister' in front of my name?"
She's silent.
"Am I... different?" He asked nonchalantly,
"Different? What kind of diff—"
"Or... am I special?" He asked again, cutting her words off before he looked into his eyes deeply.
Her eyes widened, "What? Special? Of course not." She scoffed, "Don't you ever think that even though you ever had a history with me..." she trailed her words when he cut her words again as he held back a smile, "History? What history?"
She was dumbfounded.
Then, she cursed inside her mind.
Damn...
Damn...
What a stupid word I choose...
.
.
"What kind of history that ever happened between us?" He asked again as he looked straight into her eyes, forcing her to also look at him.
"Well... Of course, I talked about we knew each other since our college time, what else?" She smirked, feeling satisfied with her own answer.
"Oh... I thought you talked about we already knew each other since our childhood time. Well... I mean... Ninja Yue..." he grinned, also feeling satisfied with his answer.
Another round of silence.
.
.
Taking a deep breath, she could only curse inside her mind again,
Damn it. I hate how smart he is in using words...
Looking towards his face, she gave up to do some 'words play' with him, then she decided to go back to her previous intention, to pay off her debt. So he pushed the envelope again.
"Just accept it." She insisted, "If you don't want to accept it, I'll just throw it into the trash bin and I'll just assume that I already give it to you. I don't want to have a debt to you."
