It was a sunny Sunday morning. The ray of light slipped through the green leaves, accompanied by the fresh breeze of wind and the distant sound of birds singing.

Inside one of the houses in a housing complex in one of the districts in Beijing, there was a girl who looked very nervous on that day. She kept on going back and forth around the front door, nervously waiting for him to come. Her heart was torn between wanting him to come or not to come because if she wanted to be honest, from the deep of her heart, she admitted that she still felt embarrassed because of her behavior a night before, that she kissed his cheek after the innocent words from ShengDi.

Yeah... SHE'S JUST DOING THAT BECAUSE OF SHENGDI.

That was her reason. Nothing was wrong with that reason, right?

.

.

Well... except, one, he was her boss, and two, in his eyes, she was his future sister in law, so why on earth she kissed him on his cheek like that? And she did that just because of ShengDi's innocent question.

ShengDi said that her mother, a.k.a her sister QingQing, also kissed him that night, but it was a cheek to cheek kiss, a simple 'kiss' as her gratitude to him for being able to accompany her daughter to her school trip.

But her?

What's the purpose of the kiss?

Gratitude? For what? For accompanying her niece? Her niece's mother already gave him her gratitude, or...

.

.

Maybe that kiss was for helping her here and there? Such as... giving her a piggyback ride when she accidentally broke her shoes' heels or shielding her from the rain that ended with him failing to fool her by threatening her with a kiss, or what?

Actually, she almost fell into his trick, she almost believed that he would kiss her that afternoon, his eyes were so convincing until she was almost sure that he would kiss her at that time.

But then,

She suddenly remembered that he has a girlfriend, so why on earth he would've kissed her?

Right?

.

.

The sound of the bell snapped her out of her reverie. She then took a deep breath, preparing herself before opening the door, then she saw him outside with a wide smile plastered on his face. "Hello..." He said, "Am I late?"

She shook her head, "No, you're not. Have you had breakfast?"

"I have. Why?"

She smiled and slightly shook her head, "Nevermind, I just thought that I won't let you help us with an empty stomach."

"Did you cook?" He suddenly asked and she caught off guard, "What? Eh, yes I did, but—" she stopped talking and bit her own lips as soon as she realized that she might have given him the impression that she was offering him her homemade cooking.

"Aah..." a smile tugged at his lips, "I think it's fine for me to have breakfast again."

She waved her hands in panic, "What? No no no... I didn't say that you should have your breakfast again, I was just asking if you already had your breakfast, and I—"
