I have been away for quite a while. I just needed to know what I am without this, and I know now.

This poem is about a person who knows the mistakes that he/she has made and has now recovered from the failure. A bit metaphoric and a bit rusty, but forgive me for I have been away too long. If you like it, be sure to vote and comment.

So close to saying "Yes",

So close to catching that life.

Thoughts are looming around,

Yet I still can't find the strength.

Time is being whisked away from me,

Freedom lies on the horizon,

Yet it feels like I am far away,

Walking in the opposite direction.

I bear in one hand

The reasoned heartbreak,

While the other hand carries

The accepted disgrace.

I want that freedom,

Oh Yes! I do.

But I know that I

Don't deserve it too.

I hide these scars

As the wind blows gentler,

The fog starts to clear

And I meander.

Trying to find

That age-old ship,

I think that I am ready

To make that trip.

I have realized

My true potential,

I believe I can do

Something very special.

But that ship is

Nowhere to be seen,

Maybe I am late,

Or maybe there's something missing.

I

Have changed now;

I have shunned all the doubts,

I radiate positive clouds.

I realize some things

I couldn't see before,

The fog earlier

Was protecting me from the shore

Which was filled with

The seasoned vice.

Now it's clear

And better do I see,

That ship has always

Been there for me.

I abolish the ways,

I have struggled

For many days.

Determined, I set foot on the ship

And together

We Sail Away

We Sail Away.
