Percy was tired. Tired and worried. For who? His father, who went to help some drunk named Jessica Jones after Uncle Foggy had given him her file. After Percy's dad went to try to get the drunk P.I. bailed out, and then came home after she rudely declined his help. Turns out, she was a better P.I. than was expected. She had evidence on Matt, evidently. He said he was going to follow her, and that was last the blind protegé had heard from his father. There had been a big attack at Midland Circle, so naturally Matt would be there. Percy rolled his eyes as he ran across the rooftop. He was about to ask Sadie to the End of School Dance. So here he was, tracking his father's heartbeat to a Chinese restaurant. All the neon signs and fluorescent lights had been turned off, but Percy could hear six sets of heartbeats, including Matt's. He heard a support stick and another heartbeat enter the building. Then he heard his father, "Oh you've gotta be kidding me." And another voice say, "What is it?" Percy sighed. Looks like Dad got caught up with the Hand again. He thought he was in danger, so naturally Percy started to move towards the building. He was suddenly at the back door, behind the new figure. He climbed through a vent outside, so he would be above the figure. "Shit!" His father yell/whispered. He realized that Matt had heard his own heartbeat. "What are you doin' here, Stick?" So he knew the stranger. He jumped down from the roof behind this 'Stick' figure. "So, wait. You know Gramps, Dad?" Percy said, jabbing a thumb over his shoulder as he walked towards his father with an eyebrow raised. Matt, who, of course, already knew he was there, sighed. "Yeah. Why are you here, Jacky?" That was his father's nickname for Percy, who absolutely loved it. It was similar to Matt's late father's name, so it gave Matt comfort. "Well, Mom's busy with the whole Midland Circle business down there with Mahoney. Was that you? By the way, who're ya new friends? Oh, Miss Jones." Percy nodded in her direction. "So, Matty finally settled down, eh?" The stranger asked. He was old, Percy realized. "He's. . . Adopted, Stick. And his mother and I are friends. After Elektra, I'm not ready for try at that for a while." Percy grimaced at that. He had met Elektra a few times before she had died. When telling his mother about her, she seemed dejected. He knew she fancied Matt. Gah, stupid British words! Sadie's doing, no doubt. She'd given Percy a kiss on the cheek before he left. He blushed at that. "Is...the duck okay? From across the pond?" Matt asked. "Yeah, she was angry I had to ditch movie night to save your ass again, though." Percy smirked. "OK! Time out people! Explaining time. Who the hell are you and you. And you. I thought you were my blind lawyer. What the hell is, 'The Hand'? " Jessica Jones asked sarcastically at the end. Percy sighed. "The Hand? Again? So that means they have the Black Sky. Oh SHIT! So that means they're after the Iron Fist. Where is he?" "Taught him well, Matty." "That was a library and Elektra. I had nothing to do with that." "Wait," a new voice started, "The Hand? You've run into them before too?" Percy turned. "Who are you?" "Danny Rand. Immortal Iron Fist." Percy nodded his head in respect. "Well, Mr. Iron Fist," Percy gestured with his arms out, This here is your majestic Chaste." He gestured to himself, the old man, 'Stick', and Matt. "So New York is in trouble? That's what's happening?" An African-American voice asked. 'Harlem.' Percy's hardwired brain thought immediately said. "Yep. And you are?" "Luke Cage. From-" "THE Luke Cage?! From Harlem, right?!" "Uh. . ." He responded. Percy frowned. "Hey! I'm 15! I'm still a minor. I'm allowed to get excited. Oh. Biggest. Crossover. Ever, by the way. C'mon I mean Daredevil, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Jessica Jones? I mean, this is amazing!" Percy yelled. Matt responded, "Quit breaking the fourth wall, Jacky. It's not cool." He was right, of course. (COUGH, COUGH)

Everything else happened like it happened it the crossover episodes. (😉Hee hee. 4th Wall!!) what?! Where did that come from?! Whatever. The redhead, Alexandra, came in later and confronted them, Luke got hit by a dumpster truck, and captured one of the leaders of The Hand. Jessica said deuces, then came back later. They saved the city, and Percy had reconnected with Claire, the nurse who took care of him when he first arrived. Now he was on his way home. His dad had another case for tomorrow to prepare for with Uncle Foggy at the office. So here he was, after having to save an old man from a mugging, he'd been hit by a lead pipe in the head and ribs. Hard. So he was limping home now. He heard one heartbeat in his house. His mom was still at work at Midland Circle, after they blew it to high hell, of course, but he knew it to be Sadie's. He brought out his key, unlocked the door, and walked in. He shut the door quietly, and then bellowed, "Hey HONEY! I'M HOOOMMEE!!" He heard a scream, then a squeal. He heard Sadie running down the stairs, straight into his arms. He managed to drop his equipment bag just in time to catch her. He twirled her around, before setting her down and hugging her, inhaling that sweet scent of her sea breeze conditioner. "I missed you, Queenie." He said closing his eyes. She let go of him, opting to hold his hand instead. He wasn't complaining. "Are you hurt?!" She asked, looking over him with her eyes as she sat him down on the couch. She turned his head left and right, up and down with her hands. He chuckled as he took her hands in his own, and pulled them into his lap. He touched his forehead against her own. "I'm fine, Queenie. Let's go to the roof. Please?" Sadie sighed, "Fine. C'mon." Percy said, "Yes!" He was going to ask her to the dance tonight, as soon as he could.
A few minutes later, they were on the roof of the apartment building in Hell's Kitchen. You could see the Empire State Building and Lady Liberty from here. Percy couldn't, of course. But he had the best view right next to him. He could hear Sadie's calm and steady heartbeat. "Sadie." He muttered, leaning in to her shoulder, then sliding his head down, face up, on her crossed legs. (A/N:Criss cross applesauce) "Hmm?" She asked, raising her eyebrows as she played with his hair. "You wanna go to the Dance with me?"
Her hands froze. He was as nervous as she was, so he continued.
"That time I was kidnapped by the cultists, and tonight and before, hell every night I was out patrolling, all I could think about was you, Sadie. Tonight especially, so can you just speak already? Cuz you're making me nervous."
"Yes, Jacky. I'll go with you to the dance."
Then she slapped him lightly, before placing her hands on the side of his head as she leaned down to meet him nose to nose. "Took you long enough, you arse."
"You've been waiting on me to ask you this whole time?!" Percy asked incredulously. "Well yeah. I mean, who else were we gonna go with? Drew and Kyle Tanaka?" Percy scrunched his nose at the names of the two sluts. Kyle was sleeping with every girl he could, and Drew vice versa. (A/N:🤷♂️) They both just sat there, faces mere inches apart.
"Y'know, I've just been trying to build up the courage to ask you pretty much all year?."
"Oh?" Sadie said, sighing contentedly. Percy said, "Sadie." They kept eye contact, even though Percy was blind. I love you Queenie." He said quietly, just above a whisper, and leaned up slightly. He put his hands on her face as she had to his, and slowly closed the distance. He stopped mere millimeters from her lips, and Sadie felt disappointment course through her body. It was a prank. Then her heart fluttered. "May I kiss you?" Percy asked politely. Sadie just hummed, smiling. Percy then closed the distance and kissed Sadie Kane. The pair had both their stomachs doing somersaults. It wasn't a French kiss, or anything like that. It was simply a teenager kiss. As he kissed Sadie, he moved his hands to her cheeks and rubbed his thumbs along her high cheekbones. She responded by wrapping her hands around his neck. Percy had sat up as soon as they kissed almost. She smiled into the kiss, and then they finally broke it. They were both gasping for breath, but their foreheads were touching. Percy chuckled. "That was amazing." He said breathlessly. They say there for a few more minutes, just enjoying the wind, then they walked back inside, holding hands the whole time. They ended the night by finishing Back To The Future from earlier. And as the second BttF started playing, they snuggled under a blanket on the loveseat. Sadie laid her head on Percy's shoulders, and Percy his head over hers. Dinah and Matt would come home from their own special night out to see their son and his best friend snuggled together on the couch with Netflix left playing. They left them there, and for the first time since meeting and moving into the same apartment, Dinah Madani and Matthew Murdock would sleep in the bed together. As Matt wrapped his arms around her waist, Dinah curled into his arms and toned stomach. She leaned into him, and both couples fell asleep together that night. Both heroes felt that they had finally got the girl.

•End•
I know! I know! A bit sudden. But it just felt like a good place. I'll start on book 2 in a few days. It was a struggle to find a good ending to this chapter, which I pride myself in. But I hope it was good enough. Please share and comment so I know you guys actually read this. There's been over 70 views overall, so I'll keep writing it because I know there's somebody reading this. Deuces.
P.S. I recommended listening to a good song for the ending, it helps sugarcoat it.
