Chapter Eleven
I just landed at the airport when someone called out my name. I look at her. She must be Lara.
Agad naman akong lumapit sa kanya.
"You're here." sabi niya.
"Yes. Will you tell me everything now?" agad na sabi ko.
I can't waste my time being in here.
"I'll tell you on our way to her." she said with a smile.
"Okay." sabi ko nalang.
"Let's go." agad naman akong sumunod sa kanya.
Pumasok kami sa isang sasakyan. She maybe own this. Nagkibit balikat lang ako dahil di ko alam.
"Shall we start?" I asked. Tumango lang siya.
Nagsimula naman akong magtanong sa kanya. Sumagot lang siya kaya nagpatuloy lang ako.
"So you told me that we're together for years, and I started to get different after months she got hospitalized?" She nod her head.
"But then, one day, you told her that you can't visit her for a few days dahil may minamadali kang schoolworks mo para agad matapos ito at makasama mo siya. But unfortunately, you never came back. Wala kang paramdam. You disappeared like a bubble, no traces. And few days after you dissapeared, she was diagnosed of having a narcolepsy together with her leukemia. Tita Elis—her mom got devastated after knowing it. She suddenly fall asleep anywhere and anytime, sometimes it lasted for days and sometimes it lasted for a month. And she got so weak and weak everyday. She seldomly smile and recognizes us. Ang bilis niya rin makalimot dahil sa sakit niya. I pity her so much. Lumalaban siya kahit pagod na siya. She still awaits you until now." she smiled bitterly.
I don't know what feeling is this, but listening to her story made my heartache.
If only I could remember her.
Few minutes later, we arrived at the saud hospital. We're walking so fast until we arrive at her room. Doctors were inside, her mom and her brother at the corner crying.
Lara went inside, so I stayed outside for awhile. I was just watching them at the door window.
Few minutes later, Doctors went outside. I was fighting with ny mind if I should go inside or not. My heart aches so much. I was looking at her, she's smiling sadly while looking at the three who's crying at the corner.
After some time of battling with my mind, I went inside. She looked at me with her shocked expression. I smile at her. I sat beside her.
"Hey?" I said. Then she smile to me.
This break my heart so much without knowing the reason. I maybe not remember her, but maybe my heart does.
I hold her hand.
"I'm sorry if I disappeared like that. I—uhm. I'm sorry if I forgotten you." I really don't know what to say to her.
She smiled to me—a genuine smile.
"No. Thank You. For coming here." She said sadly. "I finally be happy."
"I'm sorry if you lost traces. I'm sorry if can't remember you. I'm badly sorry." I was shocked when a tear fell off.
