the walk home seemed to take more time, but mingyu felt relaxed under the weather. he was about to reach the lane connecting his house. that was until he saw a tiny figure, wrapped up in a ball, shivering. his eyebrows furrowed, he started walking towards the figure.

"t-told you im r-real." wonwoo said between his shaking breaths. "let's get you inside, you're freezing." mingyu said, opening the door.

mingyu's apartment was clean, in contrast to the clumsy person he was. wonwoo breathed in the fresh lemony scent.

mingyu made the older sit near the furnace. the warmth of the furnace made wonwoo feel at ease.

"why are you here wonwoo?" mingyu asked, settling on a chair and facing the older. "i applied as a transfer student here. i still can't believe i got accepted!" mingyu let out a hearty laugh after hearing the older. wonwoo blushed when he realised how excited he got when he spoke. "why not tell me?" mingyu asked, leaning back on his chair.

"i wanted to surprise you." wonwoo said, adjusting his glasses. "i don't wanna believe this." wonwoo heard the younger say.

"believe what?" wonwoo asked, looking at the younger who had his head down. "that you're here, that you're real." mingyu said, sadness clouding his dark brown orbs.

wonwoo's eyes softened. he reached out to hold the younger's hands and gave it a light squeeze. mingyu gave a weak smile. "its too good to be true, you know?" he said, looking down at their interlocked hands. "i know, gyu." the older said, with a light smile, that made mingyu's insides melt into a puddle.

"now, now take me to the watch the sunset you've been gushing about from the moment you landed here." the older said, his eyes shining. mingyu couldn't stop his lips from lifting up. "i would! i wanna show you around here!" the younger said, clapping his hands in excitement.

wonwoo chuckled, standing up from the place he was sitting on, mingyu following him. "let's get something to eat first." the younger said, putting his coat on.

"why were you up early?" the older asked mingyu. mingyu locked the door, stepping out. "i had an assignment due, i woke up hoping i could finish it." mingyu said, catching up to wonwoo who was waiting for the younger. "and let me guess, you didn't finish it?"

"i couldn't come up with ideas okay? my brain gave up on me." mingyu huffed, earning a laugh from wonwoo.
