warning : mentions of self harm.

the hospital was suffocating mingyu. he wanted to get out of this place, he feels trapped in here. he really doesn't wanna believe he dreamt of being with wonwoo. that guy won't leave him alone huh? yet, mingyu was hopelessly in love with the older. despite the pain wonwoo brought, mingyu learnt a lot from him as a person even though his presence was merely reduced as a lesson in mingyu's life. a lesson with a message, a moral, an experience.

minghao was seated near him on a chair and he was tapping away on his phone, most probably texting his boyfriend junhui. mingyu remember meeting the odd couple on his first day in uni. they were arguing, minghao throwing rude comments at the guy, who was laughing it off.

they became friends in no time and mingyu enjoyed their company. dongmin and a few others came into the frame a while after, making mingyu feel better at a place that was not his home.

"the doctor ceased your pills." minghao said, looking at him. mingyu looked down at his hands, sighing.

"my mood swings were at the extreme. i couldn't get a grip on it. i wanted it to stop hao." he said, hanging his head down.

"you fucking overdosed on the goddamn pills mingyu. thats not okay! what if i didn't stop by? what could've happened?" the younger boy fumed, his eyes burning.

"i- i couldn't stop myself! it hurt. it hurt so fucking much." mingyu said, tears rolling down his cheeks. "i saw this coming, but my heart couldn't take it. i wanted to get out of this reality."

minghao massaged his temples before walking over to hug the taller boy. "its okay, i know." the younger awkwardly patted mingyu's head.

_

"you're finally out of hospital!" junhui said, looping an arm around mingyu's shoulders. "yeah." mingyu said with a small smile. minghao walked along, tapping on his phone.

"who are you texting hao?" junhui asked, sneaking a glance at the younger's phone. "a much better and handsome boyfriend of mine back in china." minghao said shrugging.

"you hurt my feelings, hao." junhui said, pouting.

"yeah? deal with it asshat." he snarked back a reply. they reached dongmin's book café. mingyu walked in leaving the bickering couple outside, waving a hello to dongmin who was dressed up in his usual attire.

three of them sat down, the couple still bickering. "don't you guys ever stop?" mingyu asked, looking at the couple. "i'll stop when junhui stops being annoying." minghao said nonchalantly while junhui acted offended.

"hao, but i love you." junhui said, pouting. the younger hid his face behind his phone, his cheeks tinted pink. "why won't you even say it back?" junhui continued to whine making mingyu sigh.

"i should really stop third wheeling." he said under his breath while minghao and junhui gave him an offended look.

their voices were drowned in the bustling of the café.

mingyu took up the offer in joining dongmin to help around the café. he loved his time there. the time he spent in the café, interacting with the customers, painting in his leisure time and his new found interest in baking. mingyu was finally enjoying things without a dead weight hanging on his shoulders.

minghao, junhui and mingyu were as close as ever. he didn't have to rush into a relationship. he still has his studies to concentrate on and be a better son to his mother. he would take this time to recollect himself and be a better version of himself. for once, mingyu felt like he should put himself before anything else.

he could always redeem his lost love life or there's plenty more fish in the sea right?

-end.
