I stepped down the same wooden stairs like any other ordinary day. The aroma of pancakes filled the air along with the sweet smell of syrup. "Good morning!" Dana yelled while placing some plates on the table.

"Morning, you're lucky my headache went away, with no head injury may I add."I stopped when I heard my mom who whispered around the corner. I walked over but stayed where she wouldn't see me and maybe possibly be considered eavesdropping.

"She found out by Ethan,' she paused and the person on the other end must have been the one to talk.

"I think we should just tell her.' Another pause but longer than the other one. "I will call them and figure out the arrangements. You just get here as soon as possible.' I run back to the kitchen before my mom could catch me.

"What happened?" Dana whispered to me, while she sat down by myside.

"I will tell you after, even though I don't even know everything." I whispered back just as my mother walked in through the archway with a smile on her face.

Dana nodded her head just as the rest of the 'family' walked in, "Good Morning girls." My mom looked nervous as she sat down, "Mia."

I looked at my mom as she tried to get the words out, "Your father, will be staying with us. He will be coming in just in time for you 18th birthday."

"Um, when was this decided?" My stepfather asked while he placed his fork down.

"Ya, I don't want her father staying with us." Amy said while she gave me a dirty look with Stacey who apparently didn't have a mouth to make her own sentence just nodded.

"Shut up." I spoke while I sent my glares her way.

She looks shocked and asked "What did you just say to me?"

"Do you want me to spell it out for you? S-h-u-t u-p. You're not going to tell me I can't see my father for my birthday because you're a little witch. You see you mother every weekend and you see you father almost everyday! I haven't seen my day in years! So My birthday I see who I want to see and you can just sit down and pretend to like it because for once this won't be all about you and Stacey for once." I stood up and placed my plate into the sink and went straight up stairs.

From the corner of my eye I could see Amy and Stacey completely shocked. I also heard my mom saying "He is coming for my daughters party and that is the end of this conversation."

Daniel didn't like that apparently, "This isn't only your home nor your life that will be affected with him coming here."

"When your daughters want something do I put myself in the middle, when your daughters don't show me respect I just shut up and take it. This is my daughter's 18th birthday and she wants her father here. There are more issues that need to be talked about that has nothing to do with you so please for this once stay out of it." I have never been more proud of my mother then I was today.

After I got dressed I grabbed my keys and got into my car. Jamie and I were going to meet up so I could talk to her about everything that has been going on. As I put the car in reverse I heard a knock on the window, I turned back to the front to see Dana on the passenger's side of the car. She stepped in, "Can I come with you?" I just nodded and she shut the door.

I continued my way out of the driveway as Dana started to speak "After you left breakfast things got super awkward, especially after your mom flipped."

"She had every right to say what she said, your father thinks he has the last say in everything when in actuality it should be 50/50 between our parents."

"I agree 100 percent, I just wish they hadn't fought in front of us." Dana said while she looked out the window of her side of the car.

"That is true, they should have talked it over in a seperate room instead but what was said was going to come out at some time."

"Besides that, where are we going anyway?" Dana asked as she looked at me.

"Jamie's I told her I wanted to just talk about everything that has been going on lately."
