"Jamie! Let's go! My mom is meeting us at the nail salon!"

"Don't get you panties in a twist I'm coming!"

We both step out of the house locking the door behind us and make our way to the car. I get into the driver's seat as Jamie take over the passenger seat. When I back out of the drive way Jamie start to go over the check list we made of all the things we need to do.

"Okay so we need to get our nails done, hair needs to be done, we already have our dresses, we need to come back do our makeup, we need to take pictures and then we need to be out of the house by 6:00 and on our way to the PROM!!!!" She starts doing a little happy dance as I pull into the high way.

"You need to take that excitement a little further down before you hurt yourself."

"What do you think, I'm going to break a hip?" Jamie asks giving me a look dripping with attitude.

"Yes,yes I do." Her mouth drops open and before she can start yelling at my I turn the radio up louder until I can hear a word she says.

"Rude." I hear her mumbled under her breath.

I laugh to my self and take the exit that will lead us to the nail salon where I am meeting my mom. After a a couple week break from seeing any family I decided to at least talk to my mom and dad, don't get me wrong we haven't had a heart to heart and I don't like bringing up the past but we can at least have a conversation about school or prom. When I pulled into the parking lot of the salon Jamie didn't even wait a second longer before jumping out of the car and running inside. "Yea, okay I will meet you inside. "

I yell at her fading back even though I know for a fact she can't hear me. After taking the keys out of the ignition and grabbing my bag I hop out of my car and into the salon. "Hi honey, you're going to have the girl farthest to the right." My mom hugs me quick then guides me across the marble floor to a women with her back faced toward me.

I take a seat in my designated leather chair and take a look at the woman who will be doing my nails, her bright eyes compliment her fair skin and pitch black hair that is pulled into a tight bun. "Hi, my name is Kay, what were you thinking about doing for your nails." She shakes my hand and I smile at her.

"Hi, my name Mia, and I'm not really sure. My dress is gold, so something like that would be nice." I try to picture what I want to do with my nails but nothing is coming to me.

She laughing a little before saying, "Okay, how about gold for your fingernails and an accent nail that is white with sparkles. Then for your toes we can go plain white?"

"Simple but satisfying. I like it." I nod my head in agreement and we get started with cleaning my toe nails and and shaping them.

After an hour my nails are done and I'm cashing out, "Thank you so much Kay, they look amazing."

"No problem have fun tonight and be safe!" She calls out to me as she gets another client.

Once both Jamie and I are back in the car we set the GPS for the hair salon next. It is going to be along day...

"Mia, are you ready to come down?" I bring my eyes to meet the mirror and take a deep breath this is it, time to go to my senior prom, not turning back now. I take one last look at my dress, the top strapless with gold and silver sparkles with a sweet heart neck line the bottom poofs out a small amount, the bottom is all made out of gold mesh material that reaches to the bottom of my feet. The heels on my feet match the gold in my dress while giving my two more inches in height but I am still going to be shorter than Kian because he is way too tall. My hair is pulled to the side and curled.Picking up my dress and carefully opening my door, leaving my room and not the room that is in Daniel's house but my mother's house that she never sold after marrying Daniel,  I don't reply but walk to the top of the stairs and make my way to the front of the house where people are taking pictures.

When I step out my mom starts to cry and Jamie comes running over to me. "YOU LOOK BEAUTIFUL AND SO ELEGANT!"

I laugh but say "Thank you, as do you."

Before looking around for Kian who I spot with his dad who is currently fixing his tie. He nervously looks up and shakes his hands. As I make my way over he looks over and does a double take, "Well thanks for making me even more nervous than I already was." He says as he turns toward me, running a hand through is slicked back hair.

"Thank you?" I reply while hugging him and kissing his cheek.

"It's just you look so, so breath taking and I'm just over here look like-'

I cut him off by saying "Your just over here looking handsome as ever."

My mom calls everyone over to the other side of our yard to take more picture before it gets too dark, first up is Kian and I, my mother places us in front of the setting sun. Kian takes my hand in his and puts my corsage that is white and gold,  I couldn't stop laughing from the struggle he was having so after a couple of minutes I help him out. Looking toward my dad he hands me Kian's boutonniere which I gracefully put on him.

Once we take the same cliche' prom photos we all get into the limo that is waiting for us. Jamie and her date, a boy she has been crushing on since 8th grade named Sam, enter first sitting on the very end, then enters Quinn and her date, Kim who have been dating since freshman year and are closer friends with our family, then it's Amy and her date Brandon who is a senior baseball player, who wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the money they already put into the limo. Then finally both Kian and I enter shutting the door behind us. The music starts blasting through the speakers, meaning we are on our way to senior prom!
