It starts at the heart
Blazes through every part
Singing its fury through my veins
Like a thousand wild horses, let loose
My organs like molten wax
So sated, it harks
The chaotic rampage inside
And emerges out, sparked fuse
Burning bosom and feathers like ash
Fiery tails with flames that lash
And at length, wings set afire
My body gives way to the light I choose
The heavenly fire dies as I fade
Driven through its sanctifying blade
Yet again I rise, born from ash
A legend to others, for me, a ruse
For the journey from flames to embers
Purifies and resurrects as we slumber
With our body washed in the pyre
And our soul's rebirth in another shire.
