the mickey mouse clubhouse theme song is stuck in my head, please help. ty :)

Four years and a half later, and I still can't get Clarke out of my mind.

It hurts so much because I'm supposed to be with Echo. And I do like Echo. A lot actually. She even convinced me to grow a beard, for crying out loud, which no one could convince of doing.

It took time but, in the end, I forgave her, and now everything's good. Better than good, in fact.

But I can't help feeling like she's just a rebound. A rebound from losing Clarke.

Sometimes I even pretend she is Clarke. I know, it's creepy, but what can I say? I did love her.

Raven said we should be getting back to the ground soon. I'm not sure if I'm ready though. There's so much that'll be gone with Praimfaya and all... I don't know if I'm gonna be able to handle it. At the same time though, I can't wait to see Octavia. To hold her in my arms once again.

So far, though, we're not very hopeful. We only see one piece of green land, that looks like a valley, and it's been there since the beginning. It's kind of like if Praimfaya skipped right over it.

I also know that that's not where the bunker is, so we'll have to look around more carefully to find them.

I still have hope that the human race will survive. Maybe once everyone is on that green land, we can start to repopulate or something. I mean, there are approximately twelve hundred people in the bunker and the seven of us on the Ring, so it could work.

Or maybe I was just being crazy. Maybe now was when humans are supposed to go instinct. It's our moment to leave the Earth.

"Bellamy," Raven says, but I barely register it. "BELLAMY!"

"Yeah, yeah, what?" I ask, coming out of my thoughts.

"Were you listening to any of that?" Raven asks. Not really.

"Yeah," I lie, trying to remember the few things I heard her say. "No," I admit when I come up empty-handed.

"Basically, some part of the dropship to get back down is broken," she starts. "And we don't know which, so we might have to stay a little longer than five years."

"What?" I say. Surely I misunderstood. "When you said that we have to stay longer than five years, it sounded like you said that we have to stay longer than five years."

"Really, Bellamy?" Murphy asks me. "That's all you could come up with?"

"Shut up, Murphy," Emori says, stealing my line. "It's not like you've been any help at all."

Oh yeah. Murphy and Emori broke up. I don't know why though. They seemed perfect for each other.

Murphy rolls his eyes. "Whatever."

"But once we figure out the problem," Monty says as if none of the previous conversation had happened. "We don't even know how long it'll take to fix it."

"But we're supposed to go back to Earth in four months," Harper complains, practically saying what I had been thinking this entire time.

"I agree," Echo says, next to me, her arm around my waist. "No offence, Monty, but I'm getting real tired of your algae."

"How dare you," Monty says. "No one else thinks that, right? Right?"

I smirk. "All those in favour of never eating algae again, say I."

"I," says everyone, except Monty, simultaneously.

"Oh, c'mon, you guys," Monty argues, even though he knows we won't change our mind about it. "Algae is what's keeping you alive."

"So is oxygen," Murphy cuts in. "But you don't see anyone complaining about that."

"Shut up, Murphy!" we all say at the same time, causing us to laugh.

"Okay, let's get back to business," Raven says without missing a beat. "Emori, starting tomorrow, you'll help me with the dropship problem. Bellamy and Echo, you'll have to help Monty and Harper with the algae farm. And Murphy, well, you just stay out of everyone's way."

Murphy sends her a thumbs up before exiting the room.

"God, what did I ever see in him?" Emori asks. "He's such a douche."

"Agreed," we all say in sync, making us laugh again.

;;;

The next day, we're off, starting up our new routines, and staying away from Murphy. He's always the grumpiest in the morning.

Watching Monty take care of his algae farm is like watching a dad and his son. Harper was even blushing because she was so embarrassed for his sake.

Echo and I kept eyeing each other and laughing. Her brown eyes were so filled with joy. But, God, I wish those eyes were blue. And I wish that brown hair of hers was blonde. I wish she was Clarke. Which isn't fair to Echo.

I really don't deserve her. All I ever do is compare her to Clarke, whilst she treats me like a god, which makes me feel like an even bigger jerk for thinking about someone else.

"Bellamy!" Monty says, and I snap back to reality, giving everyone a small, tight smile. "Geez, man, why d'you keep zoning out?"

I look over at Echo on my left to see she's smirking at me. "What're you thinking about?"

"Uh, nothing," I say quickly, blushing.

She doesn't seem to buy it, but doesn't say anything about it either.

"Continue," I say to Monty as he goes on explaining about the marvels of algae. The only real marel about it is how it got Monty so obsessed with it. And even that was more of a horror and less of a marvel.

He explains all the rules and how it works. How you have to be delicate and gentle with the plant. It was kinda annoying, but you gotta do what you gotta do to survive. At this point, we are all cockroaches, mini-Murphys.

In the end, though, I know it'll all work out. We'll get back to the ground eventually, no matter how long it'll take to get there.

We won't give up; we'll get there.

We'll get there.
