i have a ped day today, so i decided to update <33

"All systems check out," Emori says as we turn the corner, headed for them. Their voices are faint, but we can still hear them. "No thanks to me." Emori's always so hard on herself.

"It was your first time at the controls," Harper says as we inch closer. "Stop beating yourself up over it."

"I kicked John out because he never did anything to help us get home," Emori retorts. Murphy stops at the mention of his name.  So do the rest of us. He squints, cringing at the sentence that just came out of his ex-girlfriend's mouth. "But when it really mattered, I'm the one who almost got us killed."

"Maybe he deserves a second chance, too," Harper suggests.

Murphy smiles, causing me to mimick his reaction. Seeing him smile was kinda rare lately.

We continue walking until we reach them. "It's time to go," Murphy says as if he hadn't heard any part of Harper and Emori's previous conversation.

"Harper, I need the siphon," Monty says to his wife. That's right. Wife. Monty had proposed to Harper on our fourth year on the Ring. It was the most adorable thing ever. He put the ring he made for her in her bowl of soup. Sure, she choked and almost died, but it was the thought that counted. When Harper had spit out the piece of metal, she was overwhelmed with joy. The marriage ceremony had taken place half a year later.

"Monty, can you handle the fueling?" Echo asks, even though we all know he can. "I need to go check the main room again."

"For what?" Harper asks.

Monty nodded at Echo, Raven and me. "You forgot something?"

"Yeah, they forgot to include me in this," Murphy says. "I can do something too, you know."

Emori sighed, obviously annoyed with him. "John, we'd give you a job if we wanted everything to fail."

"You did that pretty well yourself," Murphy said, jamming his thumb towards our ship, the only way back down to the ground.

"Shut up, Murphy," Raven says, receiving a small smile from Emori.

"You know I'm right," Murphy continues. "Emori ruined everything, so stop always ganging up on me. I bet she never even listened to anything Raven taught her with how bad she did."

"You're lying," Emori says, her eyes glistening.

"Define lying," Murphy retorts.

"Why don't you define it?" I bust in. I'm so tired of his nonsense and selfishness.

"Inclining my body horizontally on a horizontal surface," he says, giving me his sassiest smile.

I scoff.

"We need to go back," Echo adds in, trying to finish off our earlier conversation, "because I want to go check something weird I saw on the ship."

I nod. "Whatever it is, let's go."

When Murphy tries to follow, I shake my head, giving him my scariest glare. His eyes widen, but he steps back and turns around, facing Emori, Monty and Harper. I'll bet anything that once we're out of his line of sight, he'll follow us.

We walk through the maze of walls, the dark blue and yellow and white reminding me painfully of life on the Ark. My thoughts automatically jumped to Octavia; her scared face every time the guards came in, her want and need to get out of our small home just once, the smile on her face whenever I read to her. My stomach contracted. What if the bunker hadn't worked? What if everyone had died? What if I'd never get to see my sister again?

I'd already lost Clarke. I couldn't lose another person that I love.

Love, I thought. You said love, not loved. You still love her. You still love Clarke

Of course I still love her.

I look over at Echo, walking in front of me, her head held high, her arms swaying at her sides. It wasn't fair to her, was it? She deserves so much better than to be with a guy who doesn't love her back.

"We're here," Raven says, ripping me out of my thoughts. "So, what exactly did you need, Echo?"

"I wanted to see who they sent down on that little ship," she replies, eyes fierce and determined. "We need to see what we're dealing with."

Raven smiles. "I like how you think." She sits down, adjusting herself in the chair.

She fidgets around with the computer screen in front of her until she finds the ship we'd been trying to reach earlier. Raven points at the screen. "Says here that the ship isn't functional."

"They were sent down to die," Echo says.

I chuckle. "Well doesn't that sound familiar." Echo gives me a confused look, to which I shrug. I don't expect her to understand; she wasn't there when the original 100 were sent to the ground. Only a few of them were still alive. Monty, Harper, Murphy, and hopefully, Miller and Octavia, back in the bunker.

Raven's eyebrows furrowed. "Do we know if-? Bellamy, look out!"

Muscular arms wrapped around my body, holding me so tightly I could barely breathe. The air is being sucked out of my lungs as I thrash around the room, grabbing the person's arms and trying to get them off of me.

From the corner of my eye, I see Echo grabbing a large object and hitting my attacker until he's fully off of me.

He lunges at Raven, seemingly trying to strangle her to death.

"Hey!" Echo yells. "Let her go!"

She swings at him again, multiple times, as he tries to resist, but this time, he falls to the floor; dead.

"One down..." Raven says, looking down at his body. We're all panting and gasping; recuperating air. "299 to go."

"He came from cryo?" Echo asks.

Raven nods quickly, tightening her ponytail. "Yeah."

"Shouldn't we just get rid of all of them?" I suggest. "I mean, they can't be used as bait or leverage, and all they impose is danger."

"I agree with Bellamy," someone says. We turn around and see Murphy. I called it.

Raven glares at him for a moment, but her gaze comes back to Echo and me, her cold stare turning back into a simply worried gaze.

"So we're agreeing on mercilessly killing 300 people?" Raven asks.

"Just for clarity," Murphy starts, and Raven rolls her eyes, "you do know that they're all prisoners here for crime, right?"

"Weren't you at first?" I ask, and Murphy goes pale. "But that's not the point. If these people are being sent to the ground to die, that probably means that there are holes in their ships or something. If they die like that, it's slow and painful. But if we let them go in cryo, it'll be like dying in your sleep. Peaceful."

Raven sighs. "You're right. You're right."

Echo nods. "Alright, let's do it. But after this, we're going right back home."

yes, in my head monty and harper got married on the ring because they are our lil' beans and deserve the best 💕💕
