"What the hell? Why does this place smell like shit" Stewart asked annoyed covering his face

"Oh our are sewer pipe busted in a kind of spread around the house, dad's fixing a toilet in the bathroom," Jake told them

"I HATE MY LIFE" Ronald shouted while banging the wrench on the toilet

"He's fine," Jake said and started picking up anything wet on the carpet

“Stewart you can head home, I’m gonna make sure Rondal is okay,” Carol told him patting his back

“Okay, I’ll go make sure the leak didn’t spread to our house,” Stewart told heer and walked to their trailer park

While Carol walked to the bathroom, Karen walked up to Patton who was sitting in the huge puddle of water as she picked up her soggy wet book as the paper fell right out of the book.

“I’m sorry Patton,” Karen said and sat down next to her no caring about her clothes getting wet

“My books were all I have from the farm..other than my animals” Patton shrugged as her chicken and duck played in the sink

“It’s okay Patton, We can replace your books and even buy you some new ones” Karen comfort her while hugging her sweetly

“Well...okay...we can do that” Patton and got up from the wet mess

“Daddy! Can we go out” Patton asked shouting down the hall

“Okay hun” Rondal said as Carol and him starting trying to fix the toilet

“Okay great...but we definitely have to change first,” Karen told her

“Yeah definitely” Patton nodded 

After they both got dressed in clean clothes they started walking to the local library, As they walked up the stone stairs and walking in the wide space, As they walked to the front desk they saw people on computers, listening to audiobooks, people on their phones, kids running around, and saw very few people who were actually reading.

“Hi” Karen greeted the front desk lady who was reading an erotic novel

“Sorry all the computers are taken, They won’t be free for another hour,” She told them not looking down at them

“No...we want the books here,” Patton told her while Karen nodded

“Oh okay, You ladies have Libary cards?” She asked still uninterested

“Yeah, I do we just wanted to know if you could point us to the child/ young teen sections” Karen explained 

“Go to the way back and make a left a the anti-smoking picture,” She told them as she pulled out her vape pen smoked in front of them

They looked at each other awkwardly before walking away from her and walked to the kids and teen section, While Patton was looking in the kids’ sections Karen was reading to mature comic books.

“Ugh, Karen” Patton whined annoyed

“What?” Karen asked

“I can’t find any of my old books” Patton moaned out and sat down next to her while slamming her had on the table

“Well, what was the name of one of your books?” Karen asked as she placed her book down

“Well one was called “Good Girl Patton,” Patton told her

“Excuse me?” Karen asked confused

“Good Girl Patton,” My Gram-Gram wrote the story and would read it to me at night,” Patton told her

“Umm...Patton...If your Gram-Gram wrote the story of course it’s not gonna be in the library” Karen told her confused 

“I know but I thought, I could find a book that made me just as happy...but I can’t” Patton muttered 

“All these books just talk about sharing, and bullying, and other stuff that I don’t understand why anyone would find entertaining” Patton grumbled sadly 

“I’m sorry Patton, Do you want to keep looking?”  Karen asked

“Nah...Let’s just go home” Patton sighed as she got out of the chair and walked to the exit

Karen gave her an uneasy look before walking behind her, They didn’t talk much and when they got home, Patton just immediately went up together the room and locked herself in. After a few hours past by she heard a knock on the door and saw Karen peek in.

“Hey your dad was able to fix the toilet and the smell is almost gone,” Karen told her as she sat down next to her on her bed

“That’s good,” Patton said and held her legs depressed

“Look, I know you didn’t find any books that you relate too but I think I can help” Karen smiled

“How?” Patton asked 

“ I have this great app to show you call WattFiction, It’s a story writing app that lets your make your own stories or read other people stories” Karen explained showing her the app and scrolling through all the free stories

“I don’t know,” Patton said unsure, While Karen grabbed Patton phone and downloaded the app and opened the app to show her more stories

“This app has over a thousand of free stories by people our age or even younger” Karen smiled

“I guess this could be fun” Patton smiled and looked thought everything

“KAREN! TIME FOR BED” Carol screamed out for her

“ I have to go but I really hope you find something you like,” Karen told her and kissed her cheek as she walked out

When Karen left, Patton set up an account and started scrolling through tons of stories, Util she spotted one she found interesting.

“To Love a Man, From a different world” Patton read aloud to herself

“Uh...Okay” Patton shrugged and looked at the description

“Oh...okay sounds kinda cool” Patton smiled and opened the story and smiled at the first chapter, Seeing a gloomping picture that was saved as the cover.
