“Patton baby time for school,” Rondal told her and opened the door to see his daughter wither her blanket wrapped around her while constantly refreshing her phone with bloodshot eyes and her mouth hung wide open
“Baby? What are you doing?” Rondal asked as he walked into her room
“I’m trying to read,” Patton told him monotone while refreshing her phone
“Oh well..it’s time for school so put your phone away,” Rondal said to her shocked
“Okay daddy,” Patton told her father as she kept refreshing
Rondal walked out of the room and Patton dressed while refreshing her phone, brushed her teeth while refreshing her phone, Patton ate her breakfast while refreshing her phone, and got her backpack, and walked inside of the car while refreshing her phone.
She walked into her class not taking her eyes away from her phone, During class, she didn’t say a word and just refreshing her phone, Her friends looked at her confused and worried but didn’t say anything not wanting to scare her back to reality.
When class ended and they were in the middle of the passing period they all met up at their lockers, They were all in front of Tricia’s locker talking about Netflix shows that they liked when they were interrupted by loud screaming.
“NO! NO! NO!” Patton south while pressing her phone over and over again
“What the Patton!” Ike asked shocked
“My phone is broken” Patton cried out worried
Karen took her phone and looked at it to see it was completely black, Karen took the phone away from her and pressed down on the button to see an almost drained battery.
“Don’t worry Patton your phone isn’t broken just the battery died” Karen explained and gave it back to her
“Well do I have to go buy a new one?” Patton asked worriedly
“No just charge it when you get home,” Karen told her
“Why are you on your phone so much all of a sudden?” Tricia asked confused
“The story I was reading doesn’t have an ending” Patton explained desperately
“Oh that not a big deal Patton, Karen can just check the story on her phone and see when it was last updated” Ike explained
“Yeah, it’s no problem…”Karen smiled te trailed off with an uneasy expression
“What?” Patton asked worriedly
“It says the story hasn’t been updated in almost a year,” Karen told her which made Patton’s eyes start twitching
“Patton...baby..are you okay?” Tricia asked worriedly
“I need to go eat my feelings” Karen cried and ran to the bathroom
“Aw poor baby” Ike sighed emphatically
“You’ve been kinda quiet Firkle,” Karen said turning her head to see that Firkle had disappeared
“Where the hell did he go?” Karen asked as they all looked around to see that he was completely gone
