Blood of my blood

Valentina didn't seem able to connect or talk to her family and friends, it was as if she wasn't there.

The council members listened to what she had to say, everyone was surprised and shocked that Diana was alive, how could you live without your souls, what would you become. They agreed that Valentina had the right to face Alistor and that should she fail they would ensure the safety of everyone else. They didn't have to wait long, Alistor and his men appeared the next day, they had a carriage with bars on the doors and windows with a small face looking out from it; as soon as Valentina saw it she called out "brother; I will set you free, hold fast Jed" the face at the window was replaced by another, its hair was long and dirty, the nails more like claws and when it saw Chase the noise it made turned stomachs "betrayer, abandoner, liar" he saw the things eyes and screamed out trying to reach the creature "Diana!!" it didn't reply to him and when the child Jed attempted to look again the creature Diana slapped him.

"Alistor! Cousin, murderer, rapist, father of Jed; I Valentina, daughter of Finn and Diana demand single combat" Valentina called him out, but he laughed in face "Valentina, I accept but Diana will fight in my place". The crowd was silent she had laid the challenge and to refuse was to admit defeat, "May the Goddess forgive me" she whispered "I accept; my... my moth...Diana can name the time" the creature in the carriage laughed "blood.. in the dark I rise...Sunset daughter of the moon".

The two army's parted but only Chase saw the tears fall from Valentina's eyes; "Tina, that thing...she's not your mother; Diana would never have hurt a child; do what you must" she nodded torn between love and duty.

As the sun began to set Valentina and Alistor met in front of the two army's and the council, "what are your demands Valentina?" she looked at them with amber eyes blazing "if I win the single combat I demand the release of the child Jed and just punishment of those that harmed innocents" her demands where written down "Alistor, if you win, what are your demands" he smiled at them "Valentina will replace Diana" Vlad and Chase needed to be restrained, from trying to kill Alistor there and then but Valentina looked at the councillors "I accept his terms". 

Diana was released from the carriage, no longer a beautiful woman, a graceful hunter, she was a trained killer. She didn't hesitate to jump for Valentina's throat; she drew first blood. Valentina tried to find some part of the women she remembered, trying to find something to hold onto but the song of the land had started. As Diana threw herself at her once loved daughter Valentina waited; once she was bleeding and the moon had risen Valentina called her name "Diana, sister to Chase, Wife to Finn, mother to Valentina, Lyall, Hern and Jed; remember who you are! Rise up, fight the darkness." Diana looked at her for a moment, knowing who she was "Tina, set me free" the creature returned but this time there was no hesitation Valentina shifted into her wolf and killed the thing that had been her mother. "Alistor! It's over; give me my brother" he laughed and drew a silver sword "I think not; I think I'll just kill you all" at that all hell broke loose and his men attacked.
