Seth's POV:

Panting, I pulled myself onto the sandy shore of what I hoped was Roti. The sign on the island was in a different language, so I wasn't exactly sure, but there was a giant dark castle.

So...probably Roti.

Everything was sore from the swim. I couldn't believe fish lived like this every day! But I might have been extra sore because the potion was wearing off...

Did I have more than one potion?! I could hear my heartbeat as I pulled the knapsack next to a tall tree away from the coast and climbed inside.

There was a shield, a few daggers, a crossbow, some of Vanessa's darts, a bunch of boxes that were bolted shut, camping supplies, and one more potion.

Thankfully.

I sighed in relief and climbed back out. There was a nice rock I could camp under for the night. I didn't dare camp out in the open, so I decided on camping in the knapsack under the rock.

I was laying in the sleeping bag hoping desperately that I was hidden well enough. It was dark now and all I wanted was to get out and find Kendra and Bracken in the morning. And fast.

But I didn't know how many creatures or people were waiting inside that castle, and I had no idea where Bracken and Kendra were being held.

Or if they were even still here...

Or if they ever were...

I shook my head and tried to get some sleep. This would only be harder if I was tired.

Bracken's POV:

By the time Navarog finally pulled away from me and left me in peace, I sat in shock at what had just happened. You could probably tell how scarring it had been just by looking at my now tear-stained face.

My hands were still held in the shackles, so I couldn't re-button my shirt, and by now I had probably screamed away my voice.

It was a long night.

Navarog went and sat down on the stage, wiping Kendra's lips. Then he headed out of the auditorium after calling quietly,
"Goodnight, love..."

Again. It was a long night.

When he finally came back the next morning, Navarog was skipping happily and sat down next to me in the auditorium, stroking my hand and causing me to flinch.
"It's just me, silly." He giggled.
Yeah, I know. I thought to myself.

"Guess what?" Navarog asked squeezing my hand now. At this point it didn't phase me. When I didn't reply, Navarog continued, "My brother is here to save us!" He exclaimed.
I shook my head at him. "You made your point, Navarog!" I shouted. He slapped me, and it stung, but I continued anyway. "Seth is dead. Don't rub it in. You WIN. I get it." I turned my head away.

"That's the thing, honey. He survived!" He got up and began to leave.
"Wh...What? Seriously?" I asked turning to face him.
"Yeah! I'm gonna go greet him!" He stated running from the auditorium.

"NAVAROG!" I screamed earning a zap from the claw grabbing my head.
"DON'T YOU LAY A FINGER ON HIM!" I yelled. But he was gone. How could Seth be alive? He sure was the strangest, strongest boy I knew.

I just hoped Seth would be smarter than him...
