Michael's POV

"Down this isle to your left," the flight attendant says to me and smiles. I nod politely as I drag my carry-on bag.

Turns out Calum and Luke already went ahead of Ashton and me so we met up at the airport and checked in together. I wasn't the only one that's sad that Joi isn't seeing us off, but I'm sure it's affecting me the most. With everything that happened between us, I wanted to spend a few more days with her.

I finally find my seat to see that its beside an empty window seat, which totally doesn't make sense because why can't I just sit with one of the guys?

"You sure this is right?" I ask Luke who's standing in his seat in front of me with Calum.

"Yeah, I don't know man, something happened when our manager booked it and can't do anything about it" he frowns.

"So where's Ashton sitting then?"

"Probably with some stranger, or whatever. It's fine mate, won't be too bad of a flight anyways" he pats me on the shoulder and sits down. I sigh and decide there's no point in making a big deal out of it. I'll just blast my music and sleep as I usually do.

I wonder who has the seat beside me though, because so far the plane is almost full but this one seat.

*"Do you like to travel?" I ask her as I watch her admire these travel vloggers on YouTube. We're sitting on her living room couch, her sitting beside me with travel brochures she's collected scattered across the table.

"Yeah, but not as often as I'd like to though; with school and everything." she sighs.

"One day, it'll happen. You'll travel the world," I tell her, kissing her temple.

"Yeah, one day." She repeats. "You know my favourite part about travelling on a plane?"

"No, what?" I ask.

"The takeoff; I love the view up there. I love the window seat, I always try to get the window seat whenever I can."*

Joi loves window seats. I can just imagine her sitting here beside me, looking out the window, seeing the world from so high up. Obviously we haven't travelled together before but I really hope it will change one day.

People are still boarding the plane and now I'm getting restless and I just want to get in the air already. I check my phone to see if there's any messages but there aren't any. I guess she went to work. As I scroll through my music, I don't even notice that someone is trying to put their baggage onto the storage above my head until they accidentally knee me in the leg.

I look up and I can't believe it.
