The group needed to use an elevator to get to the courtroom. The ride down was anxious for all of them. One person in this room killed the ultimate pop sensation, and they had to find out who. For what felt like hours the elevator ventured lower and lower below the school. Bonamu noticed Makoto shaking and placed a welcoming hand on his shoulder.

"We'll find out who did this, Makoto."

The elevator doors opened up and the students stepped into the courtroom. Monokuma sat on what looked to be a throne for himself.
"Looks nice doesn't it?" The teddy bear asked.
"No it looks like a crock of shit," Mondo snapped at him.
"So rude! Take your assigned seats and let's get on with this."

The students did as told and stood at their respective pedestals.
"How do we even start out a class trial?" Aoi asked.
"Let's start by discussing where the murder took place. Makoto Naegi's room," Byakuya said.
"W-Why are we even here? I-It's obvious Makoto did it!" Toko yelled while pointing her finger at the man himself.
"Let's discuss our evidence first before accusing anyone," Kyoko spoke.
"Evidence?!" Leon shouted. "What more evidence do we need?!"
"Well you're quite pushy to vote for him," Sakura said to the ultimate baseball star.

Leon looked at her in disbelief, then scoffed and looked away.
"Let's get back on topic, there are a couple problems I have with the scene of the crime,"  Bonamu stated.
"Please share this with us," Byakuya said.
"First off, why was your bathroom doorknob broken, Makoto?"
"I don't know. There wouldn't be a reason to do that," Makoto answered.
"What if the bathroom door was locked?" Yasahiro asked.

Bonamu stated down Hiro and presented evidence.
"Only the girl's room have locks on their bathrooms. So there must be another reason."
"Oh, must've forgot," he smiled.
"I know the reason!" Makoto stated more confident than anyone had ever seen him. "My bathroom doorframe didn't fit my door. You had to use a trick to get it open. Isn't that right, Monokuma?"
"That's right! For the ultimate lucky student that was sure unlucky!"

Obviously not, this points to Makoto's innocence. Bonamu thought to himself.
A shroud of confusion fell upon the group.
"Then can we rule Makoto out?" Hifumi asked.
"Not yet," Byakuya cut him off. "Perhaps he did this to cause a diversion."
Bonamu shot through the accusation.
"Not possible. The screwdrivers in Makoto's toolkit was a flathead. The screws in the bathroom door knobs are Phillips. I noticed this while investigating. Even then his toolkit hasn't been touched."

Byakuya looked at Bonamu with a smirk.
"Well done. I was just trying to see if anyone would catch my lie."
No you just won't admit when you're wrong.
"I believe Makoto can be ruled out now, and besides, he doesn't have the will to kill another person," The ultimate gambler smiled through her words.
"I've seen many killers, he ain't one of them," Mondo quietly said.

The crowd was slowly pushing towards Makoto's innocence. Now that this was out of the way, they could reveal the real killer.
"Now then, let's discuss the murder weapon," Bonamu said. "Sayaka had a knife in her stomach and a mark on her broken wrist."
"Well the knife was obviously the murder weapon. But no one knows where it came from," Celeste said.
"No, that's wrong!" Bonamu shot. "The knife came from the kitchen. It was the fourth chefs knife on the rack."
"Then who grabbed it?" Hiro asked.

Everyone looked at each other looking for an answer, until a quiet voice was heard.
"What is Sayaka grabbed it?" Chihiro asked.
"That's ridiculous! She was killed with the damn thing!" Mondo shouted.
"Now that she mentions it. I saw Ms. Maizono at Makoto's room when I left my room," Hifumi said. "She had something behind her back. This proves she was the one who grabbed it!"
"That doesn't prove jacksbit!" Mondo yelled back.
