Sandy's POV
My alarm clock rang without mercy and I tiredly reached for it. It was finally friday and I wanted nothing more then to not go to school. My head pounded and I couldn't recall last night after Pit had picked my sister and I up.
Groggily I swing my legs out of bed and headed towards the bathroom, "Why am I being totured." I lean my head back and exhale. I pinched the bridge of my nose but my headache was relentless.
"Why are you so lazy, hurry up your moving slower then molasses." My mother says standing outside her door staring at me and putting on one of her earings.
"Why are you up so early?"
"Babe, I told you, I'm leaving for Canada to visit your grandmother today."
"You never told me that."
"I told you last night when you came in, which was very late. I'll talk to you about that when I get back."
"Of course, is dad going?"
"He just got back from a business trip and leaving Grace and you here in New York all by your lonesomes, ha, rethink that San."
"I guess that was a dumb question... Why are you going to grandma's again?"
"To see my mother. I hope you'll want to visit me when I'm old", my mother says leaning on the wall by the bathroom door.
"Yeah, of course but lets be realistic. Why are you visiting your mother?"
"Why must you always think that I have an ulterior motive?"
"I don't know, maybe because instead of handling your daughters problems you just sent her to your mother."
"Sandy!" shocked my mother balanced herself on both her feet, "What has gotten into you and when have you ever had a problem with how I handle Grace!"
"Ah jeez mom I'm sorry, forget I said anything, last night was a rough night."
"Yeah I can tell. I don't like you hanging out all hours of the night especially with Grace."
"Oh don't drag Grace into my social life."
"Dont- Don't drag Grace in. Sandy you have already done that. You know what.. Get ready for school."
I rolled my eyes and walked into the bathroom. What a wonderful way to start my morning.
I sat on the bus and the driver eyed me all the way to my seat, it took all of my strength not to say a word to that man because he was testing me. I stared out the window all the way to my stop. I felt like I was in a daze, even through the subway ride I felt drained and the day hasn't even started.
I arrived at school just before the bell and made my way to my first period. I walked in to Mrs. Krabtre's classroom and found a seat, this would have been mine and Dalia's only class together..
I got to work on a painting that was due next monday and I was already behind since I didn't come to class yesterday. I busied myself and made little conversation with my friends in the class, most didn't want to talk anyway, once they get into that artsy mode they don't like to be bothered. I focused on the strokes of the brush and paid little attention to the clock and before I knew it it was about time to go.
I packed my things and placed my unfinished artwork on the drying rack, I had to remember to pick it up before I leave today.
"Sandy. Can I speak with you a moment?" Mrs. Krabtre signaled me over to her with a small wave and smiled.
