The x Second x Phase

You all walked through the gate simultaneously and were met by a girl with green-ish hair in pigtails and a big guy behind her.

"Hello everyone! We are the Gourmet Hunters, Menchi and Buhara and we're the best proctors of the Second Phase." Menchi introduced herself.

Many applicants started sighing by hearing the fact that they were Gourmet Hunters. All you could do is mentally sigh. Sure, Gourmet Hunters weren't all that respected by the public but you shouldn't be so rude to them, they're Hunters after all.

"Gourmet Hunters! What a joke! I came here to become a Blacklist Hunter. I'm not going to take an exam by some low Gourmet Hunters!"

Your gaze turned to the man that said that. "You? A Blacklist Hunter?" This man was in absolutely no state to become a Blacklist Hunter. He was even weaker than you were at the age of four. "Don't make me laugh! I bet these so-called low Gourmet Hunters could beat you to pulp."

The man got extremely triggered and got into a fighting stance. "You're just a little girl! What can you possibly do?! I bet those Hunters can take you down in mere seconds as well!"

Mechi raised an eyebrow as you began writing with your Aura. You wrote down: "Menchi, Buhara, please just ignore this man and continue."

Menchi smiled as she saw it and turned back to the crowd. "Now now, this girl is stronger than you think. Anyways, for the Second Phase, we will have you all cook a dish!"

Again, people were annoyed by hearing this. However, Menchi ignored them and continued. "Buhara, you can choose the dish!"

Buhara smiled and petted his large tummy. "I want a roasted pig! The pig has to be out of that forest over there." He pointed at a forest behind the gate. "Start!"

Everyone immediately started running towards the forest while you took your sweet time getting there. Before you got through the gate you turned around and faced the two examiners. "I know you're triggered because of number 44. I've felt his murderous Aura as well. Please just ignore him for now, it's for your own good."

Menchi sighed and nodded. "What's your name?"

"My name? It's of no importance." You walked through the gates and soon disappeared as you ran towards the forest. The reason you didn't tell her your name was because you were scared she'd heard it somewhere before.

When you arrived you saw everyone hit pigs on their forehead and thus killing them. One of the pigs ran your way, just like everyone else you hit it on its forehead. The pig fell on the ground, you picked it up and followed the crowd back to Menchi and Buhara.

Everyone began cooking their pigs. Never had you cooked in your life before, it was or you steal food, or you starve. Obviously you stole food from the nearby village together with Feitan.

Some were already finished but got rejected by Menchi because it was undercooked. Then there was someone who almost cooked it perfectly, at that sign you got your pig off the spit and tried to make it looks delicious by adding vegetables.

You took your pig to Menchi and Buhara and put it down in front of them. "Know that I've never cooked before in my entire life."

Menchi looked quite shocked by your statement? "Really? How old are you?"

"Fifteen."

Menchi and Buhara's eyes widened, they looked at each other and looked back at you. "Impressive..." They then both began eating your pig. "No. You fail."

"But Menchi... C'mon... She was the last one and thus you failed everyone." Buhara stated as he looked at Menchi with a disappointed expression.

You looked quite surprised as well. "Everyone failed?" Gon, Kurapika, Leorio and Killua were standing next to you and shrugging.

Suddenly the man who insulted Gourmet Hunters came forward. "You can't just fail everyone! I won't let myself get failed by some Gourmet Hunter!" He stood into his fighting stance and began running towards Menchi, Buhara and you who was still standing in front of the two examiners.

"Come on, you're supposed to do damage?" You crossed your arms as the man suddenly came to a stop when he saw that you didn't move.

"If you're not going away, I'll have to get you out of the way as well." The man continued running as you stuck your arm out and used Ko at 25%.

The man tried to slap your arm away while he was the one got sent flying into the wall next to the gate. You turned around to face Menchi and Buhara and you shrugged. "That was only 25%..." You whispered to them.

Both Menchi and Buhara chuckled a little bit. Menchi crossed her arms and smiled. "You didn't have to do that, that was my fight."

You frowned at Menchi's words and sighed. "Your bloodlust was immense. You would've killed him. I..." Your gaze went back to the man you sent flying. He was slowly starting to get up. "Didn't completely kill him."

"You didn't have any hesitation though." Buhara noted. "It was like you've done this multiple times, killing without hesitation."

You raised an eyebrow and turned back to Menchi and Buhara. "I have indeed killed people before..." A sigh escaped your lips as you whispered quietly: "My last name is Zoldyck after all."

A few seconds later an airship flew over the exam grounds. It had the Hunter Association's logo on it. "The Hunter Association?" Menchi questioned as she stood up and began walking towards it.

Then you all saw someone jumping out of the aircraft and carefully landing outside the gates. Seconds later this person was surrounded by all the applicants. You tilted your head to the side, frowned a little and then sighed because you couldn't remember who this man was or where you had seen him before.

"Chairman!" Menchi said in a loud voice and bowed down, followed by Buhara.

"Chairman?"

Then the old man began speaking. "Menchi... Did you really fail ever candidate? Don't you think that's a little over?"

Then you spaced out. Really, their talk about the candidates and all was boring. After the talk, you all got onto an airship.

That airship brought you all to some kind of ravine. Menchi explained what you were supposed to do and jumped into the ravine. She hung on one of the threads, let go, took an egg and got blown back up.

You stared down at the ravine and grinned. "Seems easy." Even if you were to fall down, with your Nen you wouldn't be hurt that much.

"No one in their right mind would jump down!" You heard someone yell from behind you.

And that was your queue to jump down. You jumped, immediately taking an egg and falling down. Perhaps you should've waited for the wind to come back but... This was way cooler.

"12 Knives." You Conjured 12 knives, the knives become hot because of your Aura Transmutation and immediately transformed into a katana.

The katana itself was hot as well. The handle was blue with purple bandages around it. The blade of the katana was in the ground so you could safely land on it.

You landed on the handle of the Katana with the egg under your arm. "And they call this exam hard."

As you began climbing back —The katana had  already disappeared— you noticed multiple people falling down without saving themselves.

There were multiple openings when you could've saved them but honestly, that was such a pain. Just let them die, it's not like you cared anyway.

Then the wind came back, you and others let yourselves get carried back up. You made a safe landing with your egg still intact.

Most people were surprised to see you come back up alive. "Haha!" You walked up to Gon's group and grinned. "You really thought I'd die from something as stupid as that?"

"(Y/n)!" Gon ran up to you, hugging you. "I'm happy to see you're doing so well!"

He let go of you with a huge smile on his face. Then Menchi called you all together to cook the eggs.

You all ate the eggs and got on a ship again for the third phase.

Let's hope the third phase is more exciting...
