kisa.

"who was that boy who walked you home last night? he was cute." sara said, turning to me as i sleepily ate my cereal.

"oh, he's the captain for the volleyball team. his name is kita." i replied, rubbing my eyes tiredly.

sara had been extremely overprotective of me for my entire life. now that i was spending all of my time around hormonal high school boys, she had become worse than she'd ever been.

"he didn't try anything on you, did he? if he lays a finger on you i'll kick his ass." she said determinedly, making me roll my eyes.

"kita-san is very respectful and sweet. he would never try to do something i didn't feel comfortable with." i replied, getting up to put my bowl in the sink.

"oh, i meant to tell you, mom isn't gonna be home tonight. she's staying with her friend." she said, changing the topic from kita.

"of course she is. she's supposed to be taking care of me while my mom is away, yet she's almost never home. my mom would kill her if she knew that you and i had to pretty much provide everything for ourselves." i said, and sara glared at me.

"it frustrates me too, but she is my mother. i won't tolerate you slandering her name while i'm around." she scolded, and i sighed.

"i'm gonna get ready." i mumbled, turning to jog up the stairs. i got dressed fairly quickly, not wanting to be late. i grabbed my school bag and went downstairs, not feeling the need to say goodbye to my cousin.

for the second day in a row, after i passed the ramen shop, suna wasn't waiting there for me. was he still mad at me? i don't know what i did to upset him.

as i got closer to the school, i noticed somebody standing in the front yard of their house, shouting up at a window.

"hurry up, atsumu! we haven't got all day for you to stand around and do yer hair!" he yelled. wait. atsumu? so that had to be his twin!

"hey! osamu, right?" i said once i got closer to the grey-haired male. he turned to me, and i noticed that his eyes were grey, unlike his brother's, which resembled melted chocolate chips.

"yeah. yer kisa, right? our new manager?" he said, and i nodded, a small smile on my face.

"that's me. are you waiting for your brother?" i asked, giggling as he sighed.

"yeah. tsumu takes all day to do his hair, even though we have to be to school in like, ten minutes." he said, and i glances up to the window he was previously yelling at.

"i can walk to school with you, if you don't wanna be late." i said, suddenly feeling confidence surge through my body.

"sure. that sounds nice."
