Friday came by quicker than Jungkook expected. He didn't know whether it was because he was so anxious for it or if it was because he was so excited for the day. It was most likely a mix of the two, but we'll let that matter rest.
Currently, the two young men were walking on the sidewalk to Jungkook's house. They still had another twenty minutes to walk, but that was because they were on the richer side of town. You know, the two to three story houses.
Jungkook's house was a little bit further away, but that's because they had to get to the poorer side. Or, as most people know it, 'the bad side' of the city. Which, was the nicer way of parents telling their kids not to go to that side.
When the two started to get to the apartment buildings, one story houses, and beaten down houses, that's when they were close. Around five minutes away at most.
It wasn't as bad as people thought. There was a park and a few stores! But the idea that if you stay on this side, you'll get mugged? That part was fake.
For the most part, anyway. There were bad people everywhere, so who's to say if you went to that side you'll be mugged? Idiots, that's who.
Jungkook wasn't embarrassed to show his friends his house. He didn't care where he lived. His Eomma worked hard for everything they have and he knew it. Why dwell on what you do or don't have?
He was just nervous Seokjin would view him differently. View him as a charity case or something. It wouldn't be the first time someone had.
However, even as they grew nearer and nearer to his small home, Seokjin didn't make a comment on the surroundings. Not one criticism, not one bad facial expression, not one sound of disgust. He just.. smiled. Seokjin smiled with genuine happiness.
Didn't matter how far they got away from Seokjin's side. Seokjin just kept smiling. He looked around curiously, he would giggle occasionally, and wave to anyone he saw.
Jungkook tightened his grip on his backpack strap as he turned to look at the elder male. "Uhm, so, you brought your stuff?" The male asked with an awkward smile. Although awkward, it melted Seokjin's heart, which did confuse the boy.
Not as much as it once did, however.
Seokjin nodded with a smile. The elder male slightly bumped the other with his broad shoulder playfully. "You expect me to walk for this long and forget to bring my things? And I thought I was the funny one!" He laughed out while shaking his head.
Jungkook laughed along, but it was mainly to fill in the silence. It was obvious Seokjin was comfortable with it, oddly, but Jungkook hadn't been. A weird switch.
At the sight of his apartment, Jungkook grabbed Seokjin's hand instinctively and pulled the elder male to the place. Unaware of the action, and the blush on Seokjin's face, he used his other hand to point. "That's home. Come on. My sister really, really wants to meet you."
Seokjin couldn't help the grin that spread on his face as they walked up to the door. He crossed his arms and tilted his head to the side as he questioned, "You told your family about me?"
And oh, it was hard to hold in his laughter when Jungkook froze while unlocking the door.
The younger cleared his throat and resumed his actions after a few more seconds had passed by. "No. No, I didn't. I don't know where you got that idea from." And before Seokjin could tease the male any further, Jungkook practically ripped the door open and, carefully, pulled him inside.
Once both young men had taken off their shoes and placed them on the shoe rack, Jungkook pulled Seokjin along into the living room, where the faint sounds of laughter came from. As they got closer to the room, not only did the sounds of laughter grow louder and clearer, but Seokjin felt his nervousness grow along with it.
Jungkook, who could feel Seokjin's grip become tighter, squeezed the male's hand once as a silent form of reassurance that he would be okay. Right after he did that, the two entered the room Seokjin had been dreading.
Yuqi, who had been sitting on her Eomma's lap, let out a loud scream before she darted up from her spot and over to Jungkook. Jungkook immediately crouched down to give the little human a hug, as he always did when he arrived back home.
Seokjin stood by Jungkook idly. Though, his lack of talking was short lived, for the little girl turned to him and tugged on his jeans. The action earned the child Seokjin's full, undivided attention. He crouched down and held out his hand with a wide smile.
She grabbed his hand and gave it a forceful shake before breaking out in a huge smile. She then turned around, ran over to her Eomma, yanked on the woman's blouse sleeve, and yelled, "It's Jinnie!"
Seokjin snorted and turned to Jungkook. He playfully punched the male's arm with a knowing grin. Leaning over to the male, he whispered, "I thought you didn't talk about me?"
Jungkook's face turned a deep shade of red before he brought himself back to reality. "E-Eomma this is Seokjin. Seokjin, this is Yuqi and my Eomma." He rested his hand on the small of Seokjin's back as he gave the male a gentle push.
Seokjin immediately dropped into a kind bow before he held out his hand for the elder woman to shake. "It's nice to finally meet you!" He took exactly one step backwards after he shook the female's hand. Pfft, not that he was counting to make sure he didn't trip or embarrass himself.. not at all!
Though, the hand on the small of his back became slightly distracting when Jungkook drew circles into the shirt.
Jungkook's Eomma clasped her hands together as she tried her darn best to contain all of her excitement. And fuck, that was hard to do. She was meeting the boy her son talked about all the damn time! "You just as much! You're very handsome! Has my son told you that? I feel like you should know-"
"Eomma, you promised no rambling and-"
"I can't help it! Look at him!" She chuckled and shook her head as she rose from the brown couch. She smiled once again, but this time allowing more of her excitement to shine through. "I'm making a few things for dinner. Lobster is included. Will you be staying?"
Although his face was as red as a dark rose, Seokjin couldn't stop his eyes from lighting up at the mention of Lobster. "Oh, please, you're too kind. I- I can! I can stay. If you'll have me, that is." He cleared his throat and looked over at Jungkook, who had already been looking at him with a dazed look.
He snapped back to reality rather quickly when he heard his Eomma reply, "We'd love to. Now go on, go get to work you two! I'll call you out here when it's finished." She then bent down to scoop her youngest child up before making her way into the kitchen, where she was very excited to be.
Jungkook cleared his throat, for what felt like the ninth time that day, and smiled at the elder male. Albeit, a bashful smile.
